fustanella: exploding pork: I realized that Jennifer Lawrence is the mirror universe version of Kristen Stewart.

Mind, blown.

downtownkid: ZeroCorpse: Rickj: ZeroCorpse: Who?

She's the girl that played the older daughter on the Bill Engvall show a few years ago.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v3j7a2Uhrak

Hmm... Nope. Still don't know her.

But I see now she was the chick who played teen Mystique in First Class (which I already stated I hated) and, yeah, she's kind of cute when she's covered in blue paint... but her performance didn't really impress me. She wasn't as bad as January Jones (a name I only know because it sounds like it should be a DC superhero's girlfriend's name) but she wasn't terribly remarkable, either.

I don't think anyone cares if you know who she is, its just kinda douchey to announce your ignorance as a point of pride.

He likes to be "That Guy".

Flappyhead: I can honestly say I never really heard of her until last night.  However, I am now a fan.

That sometimes happens to me but really how could you not have heard of the Hunger Games?

Bhags: Charming, gorgeous, intelligent, good-natured, funny........how can you NOT like this girl?
The only thing I've actually seen that she's acted in, was that Bill Engvall show, which until I read it in a previous post, I didn't realize.
Having said that, and watched her interview here, I'm thinking I need to at least go watch Winter's Bone....(which was a horribly depressing book) and maybe The Hunger Games (which I hated as a book)
This is a girl to watch for an amazing future in front of her.

Her roll in the Hunger Games was crucial.  I don't know how much they paid her but it wasn't  enough.  There were other good performances (Woody Harrelson or Elizabeth Banks) but without hers it would be a flop.  Sort of like Amy Adams in Enchanted.  In the hands of a lesser actor, Enchanted would have been panned roundly but in both situations it was essential the actor carry the film in a way that exudes authenticity to what could have been schlock.

The thread just a couple down.  Reading in reverse tonight.  You know between these two stories and my own observations it would seem that we should just take her DNA and clone her.  Or at least forcibly remove her eggs and create offspring.  She seems like an amazing person.

Ok here's a video of Jack Nicholson hitting on her during a post Oscar interview.  I got the link from the bottom of your linked page but though it was worth singling it out.

Genevieve Marie: Aaaand even more hilarious Jennifer Lawrence from last night- her being starstruck by Jack Nicholson: http://www.vanityfair.com/online/oscars/2013/02/jennifer-lawrence-osc a rs-jack-nicholson-best-actress

To be fair, that's partly because they were blatantly flirting with each other. Hell, she started it really.

"She reminded me of an old girlfriend."
"How about a new girlfriend?"

The flipping off pic was the response to one of the interviewers telling her to watch her step next time.

FitzShivering: give me doughnuts:

I went to a public school, so that meant we always lost football games to Trinity and St. X (never played DeSales).
Also, our only movie star alumnus was Ned Beatty.

I wanted to go to Manual MST, which would have been some awesome football beat downs, but alas, certain family members weren't comfortable with relative shade of peoples' skin there.  Hooray racism.

/Manual football was so bad in my time I could have started there

My brother played football for Manual.  They were always terrible.

Zerochance: Girion47: Zerochance: Girion47: I used to live over on Kenwood Ave. I could walk to Vietnam Kitchen easily.

Shut your whore mouth.  I absolutely love VK and I miss their godlike spring rolls fortnightly.

I might drive over there and get their yellow curry chicken just to spite you.

I don't think people here in the west coast believe me when I tell them this little hole-in-the-wall joint in Louisville, KY, has some of the best Vietnamese food you could ever eat.  I would gladly kick a baby for a Heineken dark, an order of shrimp spring rolls, and any of their Pho dishes.

Also, the Vietnam Kitchen is excellent.

ZeroCorpse: I hated First Class and really didn't care about any of the actresses in it. Not enough to bother learning their names, anyway.

I did not see Hunger Games. `Not sure if I want to. I already saw Battle Royale.

I do not watch awards shows. Ever. I don't believe people who have the best job in the world, for which they are paid tens of thousands or millions of dollars, need yet another pat on the back and a shiny statue. It's prom for celebrities, and I don't much care about celebrities' personal lives.

So I still don't know her. Perhaps it's because I'm not in my 20s or teens.

You're so cool, I wish I could be you.  Not be like you, actually be you.

ZeroCorpse: Girion47: Carth: downtownkid: ZeroCorpse: Who?

I know, right?  She was only given the best actress Oscar on one of the most watched television shows on the planet last night, how could a cool guy like you be expected to know who she is.

Yea, it isn't like she was nominated for best actress in 2010, was in X-men first class in 2011 and starred in Hunger Games in 2012. She is just some obscure actress.

If you don't know who Jennifer Lawrence is at this point you don't care about movies.

Maybe he cares so much about movies he hasn't watched anything recent to demonstrate to the man that they can't ruin his film memories and get away with it.

yeah...

Wow, you are so awesome.  Did anyone ever tell you that?

Of course, the irony is those comments were typed on a website almost exclusively dedicating to trolling and schlock news :)
