Yeah, but if we keep throwing money around on research into how to improve cognitive abilities in seniors, how will Republicans find people to vote for them?

Research into improving the cognition of seniors (the Tea Party base )? Unacceptable and wrong. They need to be kept fat and stupid or Cantor gets exposed.

The comments below the article are almost always where the gold is to be found:

good lord, just when i try to give kotaku another chance to not be liberal assholes. just because he was off on something he posted on twitter does not make him a dough head or give cause for all this republican bashing. but i guess what should i expect this is the internet and gawker where the only views valued are those of liberals. great job owen.

So pointing out that what a republican claimed as truth is in fact completely wrong is now "republican bashing".  Hell, I guess I can understand that mindset when your "team's" primary function anymore seems to be being factually challenged.

Eric Cantor is however one of the leading voices on defecit reduction and fiscal responsibility something this current administration seems to want to ignore completely. If 1.2 million dollars if nothing to you feel free to pony up. every dollar counts in the war against insane spending of OUR money. the government only derives money and power from We the people. Yet people act as if nothing could be less concerning than 16 trillion dollars of our money being spent that hasn't been earned."

Eric Cantor is one of the leading voices on how to shiat and whargarrble at the same time. His defense of spending cuts while preferring death over top 1% tax increases to what they were 30 years ago is akin to treason

Boom bloc does seem to be a great game for cognition. They just need an Eric Cantor's Headquarters level....but we know how that'd end up (look into his press conference when a number of Dem offices got shot at after passing healthcare...)

When he came to himself again, he said, if he had done or said anything amiss, he desired their worships to think it was his infirmity. Three or four wenches where I stood cried, "Alas, good soul!" and forgave him with all their hearts. But there's no heed to be taken of them. If Caesar had stabbed their mothers they would have done no less.

Weird, I don't see any of the usual suspects in here trying to defend Cantor's outright lies. Come on guys, at least you can come up with a "well a Democrat lied once and furthermore" or something.

The government should be paying people to play WoW- Terrorists and criminals use it to communicate, and to transfer / launder money via GoldSellers.

These activities need to be monitored, and we can't honestly expect people to play the game as a job without paying them so they can feed and clothe themselves.

Eric Cantor is the Democrats greatest gift that keeps on giving.

He alone is responsible for the tanking of the budget deal that Bohner was going to ink with the President prior to the election. He urged the Speaker not to go with it because he sees himself as the "Principle Strategist of the House" (stop laughing!) and decided that they could use the issue to thrash the President in the election.

Obviously what happened was they didn't get the Presidency and lost 8 seats in the house, then had to lose again on the "Fiscal Cliff" are now getting beat up over the "Sequester" issue and come the end of March when Obama runs out the clock are going to be faced with being responsbile for shutting down the government.

Mighty fine Strategizin' there Eric. It's actually quite amazing, all of these disasters in a row and despite how much credit people give Obama, he didn't have to lift a finger. In fact, his approach has been the best, which is basically to sit back and let them keep shooting themselves in the foot.

I think the man deserves a round of transvaginal ultrasound probes or something for a job well done.

I'm going to go start a rumor that government is spending 1.2 million to study the viability requiring all members of congress to play Sim city and Civilization before they can take office.

I have found out that to the "derp crowd", when they see a minority in a really nice car (possibly nicer than theirs), the majority of them just assume the person is on public assistance and bought the car with "their money".  That and from selling drugs.  Not factually based at all, but that's how they "feel" so it must be so.

I seriously think that would be a good idea, and I would be happy to have some of my taxes pay for that.

On second thought, I can just see the resulting Fox and Friends segment - "Sinister simulationist Sid Meier: is he trying to brainwash America's leaders with socialism?  GOP leaders complain Civilization's emphasis on science and societal collaboration is too liberal, and would rather have SimGolf, Pirates!, and SuperPAC Tycoon on the playlist."

What's funny is, I'll bet the Army and Naval War Colleges have spent more money on miniature wargaming than the couple of thousand TFA mentioned.  Didn't Larry Bond used to run scenarios for NWC using Command at Sea and Harpoon?

I think the most efficient use of money would be to executing Teabaggers. A single bullet costs very little. We could easily double tap to be sure they're down. Then we start making government programs smarter instead of constantly trying to sabotage them.
