Since rebranded as Play Music, it is also available in a few European countries and allows users to purchase songs and stream existing tunes to Android devices.

This is news? I've been using Play for about 3-4 months now, if not longer.

"Is launching" = "Launched in 2011, and again in 2012, and still no one's found heard of it".

Google has the engineering talent to build products that are as good as those of the leaders in any market.  But that's not enough: they need to create services that are  better than the market leaders -- a  lotbetter -- or else nobody has any incentive to switch.

Who needs Play Music when there's Spotify?  Or Google+ when there's Facebook?  Who's going to buy a Chromebook Pixel over a Macbook Air?
