Dayum, dude looks good for 92.

Happy Bday, Abe.

/I think the reason Fish only lasted one season is because of crappy scheduling.
//They shoulda put it on just before CHiPS
///Yeah, it's an old joke. Wanna make something of it?

It's a pretty long list of people born today who that applies to.  What's interesting is that, while he's the oldest, Abe's only the oldest by a year (Steven Hill - guy who played the first DA on Law & Order - is a year younger).

We've been watching/rewatching various Barney Miller episodes recently (mooshy mooshy).  My kids are astonished just how old he looked/acted 35+ years ago.

Happy birthday Abe, may you have many, many, MANY more.

He needs to make a guest appearance on the Walking Dead, because, you know... he is sort of.

My god, Abe Vigoda looked old when he was in The Godfather. And now he's 92? Good christ, was he just born looking old?

And another thing... I wonder, when (if?) Abe Vigoda ever dies, will www.abevigoda.com actually update to show that he is dead?

James F. Campbell: Good christ, was he just born looking old?

There's a market for the prematurely-aged-looking. For a long time it was William Hickey who got a whole mess of those roles, but he up and died when he was just 70.

I had the same thought.  He hasn't aged a day in 4 decades.  Then again, he's looked like that for at least 4 decades.  I have a feeling he made a deal with the devil to live forever but skimmed over the fine print which said he'd "appear forever as on the last day of his natural life".  There's always a catch.

Abe Vigoda is a goddamn Terminator.

2013-02-24 08:43:06 PM
Dude, don't scare me like that. I saw Abe Vigoda's name in a headline and I immediately thought the worst.

I still watch Barney Miller on TV.

And now I suddenly am struck with the morbid possibilities of headlines once he does die. I mean he can't live forever, can he?

I still hope he outlives me, but it's not likely.

And -1 Internets to anyone who says "Goodbye and thanks for all the Fish!" because it's too obvious and besides I already thought of it - and Douglas Adams did before me.

So that headline will not be a valid obituary to me.

Happy birthday, Mr. Vigoda. I'm glad you're still with us.

However, my favorite Barny Miller character was Dietrich. By a long shot.

I can't picture that. He looked old 50 years ago. It must look like the Crypt Keeper.

So now Fish has outlasted Dietrich, Luger, Levitt and Yemana. Barney, Wojo, Chano, and Harris...watch it.
