For years I offered our female customers a complementary soft dink.  Not one ever took me up on it, sigh.

Curious: that doesn't sound progressive so much as opportunistic.

whidbey: TurboCojones: Your soda is too large, citizen.  A reasonably sized soda will interfere less with your task of licking my boot.

You've really got some problems if you actually believe that restricting access equates to whatever paranoid obsession of government you're trying to unload on us here.

I keep saying the same thing about abortion.

HURRRR DOOORRRP

fark that, I don't need Michael Bloomberg to treat me like a child.

You're already acting like one.   Your "need" for junk food is trumped by the fact that it's a big reason why our health care costs are so high in this country.  And you're clearly not seeing that.

Something told me that you'd be all about supporting any form of government control someone could think up.

Real Women Drink Akvavit: I always thought some of the more interesting taco trucks put LA on top. Where else can you get Korean-Thai-Mexican-Mediterranean fusion tacos while standing in a dark alley at 10:00 pm other than Los Angeles?

Are you talking about food or poon?

Really? Former Republican now Independent Bloomberg is progressive? News to me.

You forgot one step. He was a lifelong Democrat up till his first election. He switched parties so he could run unopposed in the primary. Otherwise he would have not made it through the primary.

Bloomberg has always been progressive.

that doesn't sound progressive so much as opportunistic.

This, plus Quomo's way of passing laws regarding things he hates people having, are a couple major reasons why I'll never willingly step foot into New York for any reason aside from flight layovers (sometimes you just can't help that).

I've always dreamed of visiting Time Square and touring NYC at least once. However, having to deal with crap like this? Fark that place and fark the people who voted in and tolerate this shiat.

I see a revitalization of the Law & Order franchise somewhere in this.

There are families living in NY in houses damaged by hurricane Sandy who still can't cook because the gas is shut off. Glad to see the mayor is looking out for their well-being.

Silverstaff: Until Lord Bloomberg decides to regulate that too.

Maybe regulate pizza sizes, maybe ban people from eating more than a certain amount of food per meal.

Well for a long time there's been a loophole. People go to food markets and they get whatever they want with no supervision of whether or not it's healthy. Sure, we can put on the side of a 20oz bottle of soda that it's 2 servings and hope the person divides it up between two meals but there's no real way to enforce it. So what we have to do is close the bulk food loophole and make every item sold one serving. That way a person will have to consciously decide to eat twice as much food as they should.

Every year fatties cost America billions in healthcare costs. Since this is paid for by the taxpayers it's only fair that taxpayers work to end their subsidization of these free riding fatties.

The only rational conclusion I can come up with is that Bloomberg has his hands in the cigarette/soda smuggling circles that bring that stuff out to NYC and is getting a piece.
