Tolerate?  Bloomberg is a visionary and a crusader for our children's health.  That says as much about the kind of people who oppose him.

New Yorkers deserve all the retard Bloomberg has to offer.

No. It is just more butthurt from the continuously butthurt. Do  you live in New York? Do you sell soft drink syrup? These people are my ideological opponents because they are on the wrong side of EVERY issue that really does matter.

You're already acting like one.   Your "need" for junk food is trumped by the fact that it's a big reason why our health care costs are so high in this country.  And you're clearly not seeing that.

With any luck this is just a start.  Once we get these things out of convenient marts and grocery stores, we can move on to fast food.

Because taking measures to civilize society is akin to slowly boiling a frog in water.

Your logic.  It amazes.

HarleyMarlboro: I understand why he's banning Big Gulps, since those are intended to be one serving.  (I don't agree, but I understand)

I don't understand this.  A 2 liter has a little over 8 servings.  What's next, no one can buy more than one 16oz bottle at a time, because they might drink more than one?

Do people realize that the NY Post is a troll newspaper? This is basically like yelling "DEATH PANELS!" every time we talk about Obamacare. People want to complain about "Nanny" Bloomberg, so they re-interpret the law into something that victimizes them. Has anybody gotten in trouble over the things the article talks about? No? You people eat it up with a spoon, it's sad.

Florida has their own tag because of all the Douche NY transplants who spend more time whining about Florida than doing anything productive

You would be surprised how many NY transplants in FL who are shocked that they have to work while on the job....and hate that they cannot go randomly mug people because we have non criminals with guns that will shoot to defend.

martissimo: Real Women Drink Akvavit: Not the good mixed drinks. Some of the drive thru dairies had those cheapo premixed things. Considering the drive thru dairies tended to be located in less than "high end" neighborhoods, those probably sold better than a premium mixed drink ever could. I bet Night Train or maybe MD 20/20 still was the top seller, though.

We had one of those a few blocks from where I grew up in Simi Valley, and I highly doubt that Night Train or MD 20/20 were big sellers.

Of course at that point in history most people from Simi had never seen a black man yet except on TV, the Rodney King trial wouldn't be held until a few years later

I can't recall if I ever made it that far out of my financial league at the time, even for kicks and giggles. I was almost strictly a denizen of some of Los Angeles county's more questionable neighborhoods and I tended to hang around those areas. I did spend a brief time in OC, but didn't get along with the roomies, so I went back to LA.

/might have driven through it

Really, we should just shoot... scratch that the police (Wouldn't want the citizens getting any ideas about material ownership) should shoot the overweight, the lame, the mentally deficient, and anyone who isn't contributing 100% to society. Lots of good derp here

Bloomberg is getting kickbacks somehow, even though he's a billionaire

That's what you get for voting for a democrat, even though he's an independant

I'll never visit NY because of this, who cares?  NY won't miss you and you're a child if you can't drink a sixteen ounce soda for a few days of sight seeing

LA is better, nope urban sprawl surrounded by better cities isn't better than NYC

I'm not overweight but I think I should be able to go down to my local convenience store and buy a thousand 2-liters if I wanted too. I also think you should be able to smoke where ever the fark you want, I also think you should visit an Indian reservation. Seriously, tax free smokes.

If someone is doing something that harms the public good, reasonable restrictions on that behavior are fine with me. I'm happy to pay my fair share of taxes.  Well, not happy, but I do anyway.

Mrbogey: Silverstaff: Until Lord Bloomberg decides to regulate that too.

Maybe regulate pizza sizes, maybe ban people from eating more than a certain amount of food per meal.

Well for a long time there's been a loophole. People go to food markets and they get whatever they want with no supervision of whether or not it's healthy. Sure, we can put on the side of a 20oz bottle of soda that it's 2 servings and hope the person divides it up between two meals but there's no real way to enforce it. So what we have to do is close the bulk food loophole and make every item sold one serving. That way a person will have to consciously decide to eat twice as much food as they should.

Every year fatties cost America billions in healthcare costs. Since this is paid for by the taxpayers it's only fair that taxpayers work to end their subsidization of these free riding fatties.

/parody

Oldiron_79: Can we build a wall around NYC and empty all the countrys prisons inside the wall?

The funny thing is that one of the only industries growing in NYS is Prisons. NYC doesn't keep the criminals in the city limits, they ship them off to the far corners of the state.

I'm also not even going to bother replying to GoldSpider since he has a major hard on for telling other people how to live, and if his nose was any further up Bloomberg's ass his shoes would be the only thing visible.

2013-02-24 06:50:26 PM

whizbangthedirtfarmer: Meh, I can't imagine that folks would want to pay out the arse for a 2-liter with soda anyway.  Here, they charge something like 3 or 4 bucks; I can walk down the street and get a 2-liter at the grocery store for 1.25.

And you can buy a frozen pizza at the grocery store for $4 so why would anyone want to pay $25 to have one delivered? Oh wait, maybe because it's conveniently cooked and ready to eat, and maybe they figure paying an extra buck or two for a 2 liter is worth the convenience of having it delivered to them along with their meal.

Or we could just not deliver huge bottles of liquid sodium and corn syrup to them. It's kind of a compromise because we'll still deliver as many small bottles of liquid sodium and corn syrup as you please.
