NY is really two states. NYC and immediate surroundings, and the other 99.5%, called NotNYC. Completely different mindsets. NotNYC can be pretty rational at times.

Then think about non-USDA beef, "dietary supplements" making a medical claim, lead tainted children's toys, a car seat that hasn't passed safety inspection.

The government restricts of ton of things that can be *sold* and they are not all things that are super toxic/addictive like cigarettes. Arguably at this time more people are getting sick and dying from trans fat and sugary drinks than cigarettes so I don't see how this ban is a stretch.

That said, if I was the one deciding, I would vote against this ban.
