The SAG allows lower pay for actors in low-budget movies, as long as they get a domestic release in theaters, maybe on the assumption that actors would relish the opportunity to get in a part in a movie that'd go on the silver screen, and not just as a direct-to-DVD. The producers did not intend to distribute the movie domestically. So, what they did was they rented a theatre in Dallas for one week, and showed the movie there for one week, with absolutely no marketing. And then their legal obligations were fulfilled.I'd not be surprised if that's what happened here.
redsquid: marcre3363: Random movie CSB's... I saw the director, sitting outside the theater at a card table with his hands in his head. The movie was so bad he tried to remove his own brain?
SockMonkeyHolocaust: A truly mad concoction, blending 1950s juvenile delinquents, sci-fi melodrama, song-and-dance, and a touch of horror, everything in just the right combination to create an engaging big screen spectacle! This curious and curiously entertaining storyhaha, wow. That ad copy really sells it.
Foxxinnia: I wonder who the people who saw Zyzzyx Road were. Were they just random people who went to a theater saw it on the listings board and were like, "Hey let's give it shot"? Do people do that? Go to the movies and get tickets to movies they know absolutely nothing about?
