"Stewart, who is presenting an award at the Oscars on Sunday, was not present at the spoof award ceremony.

Instead, a cardboard cut-out of the actress was brought in to the press conference to "accept" her trophy."
 How appropriate.

The cardboard version is still much too animated.

Dear god, Does Kirsten Stewart always have to have that vapid, soul-dead expression on her face?

Creepy is that.

Razzies got it right again.

Kirsten and the rest of the Twilight cast, Sandler and Rhianna ought to make a movie together just to sweep next year's awards in toto with one film.

And yet she's the highest paid actress in the world.

Kristen Steward is an actress?  I thought she was a piece of performance art.

She's a department store mannequin that somehow gained sentience.

Someone should alert Andrew McCarthy.

I don't get the hate for battleship other then they really shouldn't have tried to shoehorn the board game aspect onto the script.

It was perfect in it's schlockyness and ability not to take it's self seriously.

Sandler and Stewart in a vampire love story: Crapula.

Hopefully after this year, the Mtv Movie Awards will quit being Twilight centric

In case anyone wants to see the entire list of nominees and winners.

Any one of the screen couple nominees were worthy of full-on snark. Any Jersey Shore couple in  Three Stooges or Adam Sandler and anyone else in  That's My Boywere all great contenders on their own, but had no shot against the Twilight black hole.

As was said elsewhere, this year of the Razzies was somewhat like the Oscar year in which The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King took everything.

It seemed like an inevitability when you realized that they were going to recognize the entire series in one night.

Hey, I think that Kristen Stewart could have a promising career in movies.

You know, as a coat rack or something.

"She's following in the footsteps of Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez and Madonna - singers who really can't act but get paid millions of dollars anyway."

i'm going to come out and disagree with this.  jennifer lopez can act when she's given an interesting character to play, and she sure as hell ain't getting paid millions to act anymore.  her most recent role is playing a damsel in distress in a jason statham movie for crying out loud.

I have to agree.  Is it a great movie?  Fark no.  But is it a fun movie with shiat blowing up and aliens?  Yes.  They honestly spent far too much on the budget.  If they had limited the special effects to about $20 and whatever they found in the couch it would have been an amazing B movie.

/people making movies need to remember that sometimes less really is more

Yes. Money = talent. Sex and the City is much better than Shakespeare.

Agreed. I'd like them to go after actual Oscar nominees when warranted.

2013-02-24 03:22:32 PM
Not to say they aren't terrible, but they aren't the worst major releases. It's the big dumb popular blockbusters or the famous actor who stars in a bomb that they almost always pick. The Razzies are the People's Choice awards of bad movies.

It's a romance novel for teen girls.  The Razzie should go to anyone who judges these movies by any greater criterion than that.

Serious question: have you seen any of the Twilight films? I've not, so I'm not going to comment on them, but most people seem to have a problem with them because they're watched by teenage girls and they seem to be repulsed by "sparkly vampires".

Roger Ebert gave it 2.5/4, Kermode generally likes the series. No-one's saying it's Citizen Kane, but critics aren't panning it like they panned Glitter. Taken 2 and the latest Die Hard scored lower with critics.

I've seen the first two through Rifftrax and I got dragged to the last one and they are genuinely not good movies.
