NakedReporta: blottoman: Chicago jam band Mr Blotto - Buller? Buller? Buller?

Actually, the funny thing is, I'm not generally a fan of jam bands. I used that as an example because it's something I would've said 20 years ago in college. Yeah, I was Happy Hours 20 years ago. I'm much more diplomatic in my old age. So I'm really not indulging the troll as much as I'm drunk yelling at the 22-year-old version of myself for being such an asshole.

Mr. Blotto, huh? I'll give 'em a listen.

Check them out on youtube. Though going to the shows - especially the break - are way better.

MissFeasance: Happy Hours: My point is I don't want to listen to your shiat and I don't want to play my shiat for you.

STOP LIKING THINGS I DON'T LIKE WAHHH

Meh - I never said anything bad about subby's radio show. I might even like what he likes. Who knows?

What I'm objecting to is the blatant plug on Fark's main page to "Please listen to music I like and think you should listen to also.".

And based on that, I won't even give it a chance.

NakedReporta: I imagine your the kind of guy that people ask, "Hey, wanna come see this jam band with us?" and you say something shiatty like, "No, jam bands suck and you suck for listening to them" instead of just saying, "No thanks, man, not my thing, have fun."

As much as I hate the term "jam band" (since it's meaningless) I do like some bands who get thrown into that category.

So let's pick on ABBA since they are a band I think sucks but has an above average number of fans for a band as old as they are. If they reunited and a friend said, "Let's go see ABBA" I'd probably laugh and say "No thanks, man, not my thing, have fun." And then I might poke fun at them from time to time as being my "ABBA fan friend" but if that's what they want to listen to I'm cool with it as long as they don't force me to listen to them.

Your music recognition is impressive.

I'm pretty sure his popularity didn't make it to Oklahoma.  I hadn't heard of him until a few years back.

bionicjoe: tinfoil-hat maggie: Happy Hours:

Okay fine maybe you can help me with this questionnaire thing.

-Do you feel you had a happy childhood ?
Not really
-Are you're parents still married(were they)?
No. Dad died right before I turned 21.
-Do you have any physical disabilities?
No. Does fat count?
-Do you have any mental disabilities ?
Probably, but alcohol helps. Does Fark count?
-Do you often get mad at things beyond you're control?
Yes. All the time. It's why I don't buy a weapon.

Well it's a work in progress : )

Hope that helps.

LoL. but you're not on my troll list but I knew i would have to delve further if I want to figure it out : )

2013-02-24 03:33:51 AM
Well, see, there's our problem right there. Because ABBA is awesome. Like seriously. Like I don't even count them as a guilty pleasure. A guilty pleasure would be Bread. Or Asia. Or "Sometimes When We Touch" by Dan Hill. Those are guilty pleasures. ABBA, they're right there with The Carpenters on my "Yeah, I like them, and quit laughing, and fark you for not acknowledging their artistry" list.

But I come back to the fact that nobody was forcing you to listen to soosh's show, anymore than anyone is forcing you to listen to ABBA. A farker has a radio show, and he submitted a link, and the mods/admins said "Hey, one of ours doing a late-night radio show, sure, we'll throw the link up there." It's your choice to click it or not, but there wasn't really any need to take it as some sort of personal affront or to comment negatively on it. That's all I was saying.

I also think you're probably listening to this show right now, you silly old troll, you.
