WhippingBoy: wildsnowllama: Don't be farking stupid. Take as much money as you need to get yourself cleaned up, find a job, and pay for the first and last months' rent for an apartment. Put the rest in a trust to help others do the same. People pray for shiat like this to happen everyday and now you can actually do something to help yourself and others in your situation.

I suspect he's homeless because he doesn't make good decisions. Why do you expect him to start now?

Yeah, that's it.  No "there but for the grace of God go I", they f--ked up so they're getting what was gonna be coming to them.

You, however, are smart and resourceful.  You will never experience the type of tragedy that makes you homeless.  So why help those who are, they'll just f--k it up.

You're walking along, not a nickel in your jeans, your free as the wind, nobody bothers ya. Hundreds of people pass you by in every line of business: shoes, hats, automobiles, radios, everything, and there all nice lovable people and they lets you alone, is that right? Then you get a hold of some dough and what happens, all those nice sweet lovable people become helots, a lotta heels. They begin to creep up on ya, trying to sell ya something: they get long claws and they get a stranglehold on ya, and you squirm and you duck and you holler and you try to push them away but you haven't got the chance. They gots ya. First thing ya know you own things, a car for instance, now your whole life is messed up with alot more stuff: you get license fees and number plates and gas and oil and taxes and insurance and identification cards and letters and bills and flat tires and dents and traffic tickets and motorcycle cops and tickets and courtrooms and lawers and fines and... a million and one other things. What happens? You're not the free and happy guy you used to be. You need to have money to pay for all those things, so you go after what the other fellas got. There you are, you're a helot yourself.

I don't know about everyone else, but I think there is some dust in my eye. What a great story. Now somebody needs to give this man a job. I'm pretty sure he's trustworthy.

Hey homeless guy, you know why you're homeless? Cause you're refusing 132K, that's why. Shut the hell up and take the money. Sincerely, everyone who wishes they were handed 132K.

My thoughts.

Give ME that money. Dammit.

I give stuff back to people all the time.

it's actually quite a conundrum.  i'd personally TAKE the money.  but not pay any taxes on it, so i could stay in jail for free

If not for the grace of (insert deity here) there goes me. Homelessness can occur to anyone. Hard work, attitude, the ability to handle money are not mitigating circumstances. I know from personal experience. I cannot work anymore, back issues, waiting for SSD which I may or may not get. took me ohh about 8 months to go through all my tangible assets. Nothing left now but my military disability and that is not enough. If not for one friend, I would be on the street. What is worse I am not a substance abuser and thus not eligible for 99% of the assistance programs. I know, I tried for months to find even one that would take me. I don't cry or whine, I just try to survive each day. I have seen people in much worse situations. I hope this helps this guy. Too many people are indifferent anymore.  Unless you get your 15 minutes of fame somehow.  Sleep well.

I agree with the homeless guy.
I mean, everyone means well, but wtf?
As the lady says, she feels him returning the ring was a miracle.
Welcome to our brave new world, where a person acting like a decent human being is a farking miracle.

I work with people everyday who won't talk to me because I'm black.
I read websites where people say the most vile things about other human beings.
The most popular entertainment award show in America was hosted by one of the most racist and foul-minded human beings alive.
And people thought it was funny.

People steal, lie, cheat and kill to get what they want.
And they are revered, admired and elected to public office.

People like Dr. King and Ghandi - they are admired, but they somehow wind up dead.
And people shrug. Some even celebrate.
People who stand up for themselves, or God forbid, dare to stand up for others - these folks are regarded as suckers.
They are regarded as criminals.

Homeless guy is wrong. You are wrong.

His act of everyday kindness has been a miracle since the days of the Good Samaritan.

He deserves every penny of that money.
I hope he has a nice life from here on.

Because the reason we are even talking about him is because he did make a good decision. When you learn that sometimes even people who make good decisions can have bad things happen to them we can call you Whippingman.
