Mid_mo_mad_man: It's just kids being kids. Typical fark making a mountain out of a mole hill.

BarkingUnicorn: Funny how we teach kids to ignore race but when they do, they're stupid.

Those outfits were never intended to be Klan outfits.

Actually, there have been a bunch of articles that discuss how detrimental it is to teach kids to totally ignore race and racial history- it means they don't ever learn to recognize racial privilege nor do they get an accurate view of American history.

This article explains it pretty well, but there are a bunch more on Google Scholar if the subject interests you: http://www.tolerance.org/magazine/number-36-fall-2009/feature/colorbl i ndness-new-racism

FTA: Kristopher Arason, Red River's principal, said the school's investigation determined that the students put on the attire just after Red River's first goal and wore it for about 30 seconds to a minute. The teens removed the outfits after students in the section told them it was offensive, he said.

Well, at least the rest of the crowd shamed them into removing the outfits quickly.

FTA: The photo that Schuster posted on the social media site shows the three hooded fans in the middle of the Red River Roughriders section, in which everyone is dressed in white as part of a "whiteout."
