It's because they're trying to run the real-life equivalents of Dr. Doofenshmirtz.

i'll save them a lot of time:  patriotic americans don't want teabaggers in office.

Dear Koch Brothers:
You lost because your policies suck and everyone with a working brain could see that all of your candidates were criminal scumbags who should be in prison, like you should, you vile, unpatriotic, evil pieces of dog s**t.

Yours sincerely;

Heinz Doofenshmirtz would probably be electable.

Really?  A villain from a kids show?  That's who you go with?

Well, they did just re-elect Joseph McCarthy, so...

Politics is largely about demographics. You idiots failed to see the shift that's been in front of your face for years now. If you're too dumb to not accurately gauge the electorate, you're too dumb to lead.

1. People don't want to hear about all the awesome fringe benefits of rape.

2. People didn't want to hear some trust fund preppie calling them lazy moochers.

I hope the Kochs at least realized a deductible, negative cash flow.

This is the GOP's current internal debate in a nutshell: Do we need to change our ideas? Or just the packaging?

False "either/or" dichotomy is false.

/Psst... it's an "and/or" thing.
//Who am I kidding?
///It's just an "and" thing.

"Koch Brothers Want to Know Why Their Money Was Wasted"
WELL
Let me help you with that investigation.

Could it be that you backed a bunch of insane pro-rapist candidates?
Could it be that you trusted people like dick morris and karl rove?
Could it be that you believed the lie that the polls were biased in favor of liberals?
Could it be that reality beat crazy?

Whoops left out the most obvious
Could it be that reality has a liberal bias?

Some of them did see the demographic shift, and they responded by trying to make voting as difficult as possible for Democrat voting blocs.

Plus some of them did do all that gerrymandering after 2010 based on demographics.

Those ones aren't dumb just plain old fashioned evil.

Dear Koch Bros.

I'm here to save you some money... I'd appreciate your consideration of appropriate compensation for this cost saving.
It's simple really...
The majority of the people of United States of America would prefer to live in Canada than Somalia.

Thanks in advance for your kind and thoughtful compensation.

And don't forget the mutiny in the Dick Armey.

It really shouldn't surprise me that so many of these groups implode from within.  Their members are so filled with hatred and bile that it's inevitable that they turn on each other.

Nobody capable of beating President Obama was going to get the Republican nomination last year.  The nominee was either going to be a nutbar or a snoozer of a compromise candidate the teabaggers couldn't really accept, but who had to say enough things to please the teabaggers to end the chances of him appealing to mainstream voters.

I love that Daddy Fred Koch made a shiatload of money from Stalin through industrial projects and gave his two dumbass sons his money through inheritance, which they used to create groups like AFP to lobby for the GOP which is on a crusade against SOSHELIZM! So the GOP owes more to the Bolsheviks than does that Muslin Marksist.

Because they exercised no oversight and dumped large amounts of money into organizations which are completely unregulated and unaccountable, thanks to laws they themselves cooked up.

The Koch brothers had a 5.57% return on investment for their PAC in 2012. Surprisingly they weren't the worst (that would be the NRA's paltry .81%)

And there's the possibility of them running George Bush in 2016, because surely the voters won't remember how the country was run by the last guy with that name, nor will they ask uncomfortable questions about whether his middle-namesake and great-gran-pappy Prescott dealt in Nazi gold.

If Prescott's money didn't affect H.W. or W., I seriously doubt it's going to affect P.  It was 70 years ago, time to move on.

They fancy themselves libertarians, but you can't be unless you're going to use some of that money to call out the Jesus-freaks and god-botherers.

Anyway, yay for disclosure. I don't care who pours what pile of money into whose campaign long as we know about it promptly.

They should have just bribed people directly to vote for their candidates, it would have been more effective than what they did.

I am shocked that people who believe in creating a system that makes it perfectly legal to screw anyone over so long as you make a profit hired people who also believe in creating a system that makes it perfectly legal to screw anyone over so long as you make a profit subsequently screwed them over to make a profit. Shocked, I tell you.

Oh, I agree with that.

It's just that it's an issue that will very likely be at least mentioned in passing by non-NewsCorp media outlets should he run under the name Prescott Bush in an effort to not run under the name George Bush.

/Fox News might list him as the grandson of former President George Bush
//and they might "accidentally" forget to list him as the nephew  of former President George Bush

The problem that faces the republican party is that they simply aren't rapey enough. And they don't hate gays and nonwhites enough. Also they aren't working hard enough to disenfranchise voters by putting legislative obstacles in the path of voting. They also need to start more wars based on flimsy evidence and then bungle them massively. Only by doing so can they win back the presidency.

Prescott Bush wasn't a Nazi himself or even a sympathizer; he did it for pure business reasons, which almost makes it worse to me because it goes back to Hannah Arendt's "banality of evil" argument. She spoke about Eichmann being a desk murderer, meaning he was detached completely from the attrocities he committed, treating it like paperwork. This is what conspiracy theorists don't understand; powerful people aren't denting their fingers and cackling maniacally when they do horrible things. It's just part of the everyday grind.

They have a grip on their situation.

They market to a bunch of judgmental pecking-order voters. It doesn't matter what they're judging, as long as they're empowered to be angry judges. When the gay/brown/black/non-Christian/etc. issues burn out, they just rotate something else in to keep the anger fresh.

We'll be seeing the list's replacement items appearing within the next couple of months.
