It's the best corner kick I'll see all month, maybe all year.

/Also the worst.

The luckiest trick play you'll see all day. Maybe.

The goaltender most likely to lose his job EVAR!

Well executed and obviously planned play versus crap defense and shiate goaltending FTW.

Crap defense definitely.  Keeper was moving right to left and the shot came back across to his right.  Tough to make that adjustment.

Yeah, but it only looks awesome because it worked. If any part of that had failed, they'd look like a bunch of idiots.

Meh, I'd rather watch a good footie match than North American style football.

Unless hockey is on, of course.

Slaxl: Let's have some alternatives, for those who don't see too many corners.

I thought that was illegal. Doesn't it have to touch someone? It's an indirect kick.

No, It's good. I've done it myself in the eighties while playing with the US Navy. Same as Henry, top far corner (but from the other side). I was told from a teammate that it is called an 'Olympic goal'.

-by the way I still play in municipal recreational leagues, but now I kinda suck.

That was a cute trick, but a 7-year-old girl on my daughter's U8 team curved it into the goal from the corner, untouched.  THAT was the best corner kick I saw all day.

that roberto carlos kick is amazing.  all the more so because he saw the goalie out of position and took it then and there.

IIRC, one player other than the guy kicking the ball into play has to touch the ball, and the ball has to go one full circumference into the goal.  Both conditions are met in both videos.  Carlos to his own teammate (right near the goal), and Henry to the goalie himself.

Corner kicks are direct kicks; they don't have to touch another player before going into the goal.

And it doesn't have to go "one full circumference into the goal." It's a goal once the whole ball crosses the line.
