Basically Einhorn wants Apple to pay a 7% dividend out on a specific preferred stock that the plebs will never get their hands on in any meaningful amount, as opposed to banking that money for a rainy day or investing it in R&D, marketing, or other activities that make the company stronger and increase the common stock price?

I'll be interesting to see how this plays out in the share price. Lots of people...and I mean LOTS of people own shares in AAPL.

What's the point of owning a stock if it doesn't pay dividends?  You might as well own collectible coins or Magic cards.
