Well, she'll never have to worry about someone making HER into Robocop.

They don't make enough duct tape to do the job....

Really?

The kids thought it would be funny, so she does it, and then she gets shiat for it? When they were cool with it?

*rereads* Or was it the friend's idea? Unclear if the children were the source of the idea or not, but either way this just seems dumb.

Holy fark I cannot believe this is a news story and she was arrested for it. fark people are stupid. I guess they should have locked my mom up for tying my socks together when I was a kid. The fact I was giggling and in on the joke be damned.

This ranks up there with the guy who was arrested because there was a picture of him holding his baby and a gun at the same time.  With the gun nowhere near the baby.

Why isn't she in Florida teaching her kids how to survive?

Sounds like society is arresting parents who allow their children to play make believe. Next step is obviously to drug the kid with ritalin. Why would some child want to pretend to be something he is not?

Ennis allegedly wrapped duct-tape around the forehead, eyes and mouth of her son, eight - which she posted to the boy's father Rudy Yado who contacted police - and to the head of an 11-year-old girl, ABC News reported.

I wrap up my 6 yo in bandages from head to foot until you could only see his eyes, he loves to pretend that he's a mummy.

At least we don't get arrested for 'child endangerment' for that shiat over here.

This case is farking stupid. I reckon the ex called the pigs to get back at the mother.

Usually in cases like this, experts on Fark tell us there "is more to the story."

We used to do that as kids with toilet paper.

The difference was, if we wanted out, we just had to tear off the TP. Duct tape? Not so much.

You know what, this was just one very stupid act. I don't there was any intentional abuse. Wouldn't serve better for all involved to have the mom take some voluntary parenting courses and avoid putting them through the system?

I'd sure like to see a lawyer go before a judge and try to prove that ANY harm was done.

I want to see the photo of the kid after the duct tape was removed- did his eyebrows get torn off? Unless the mother was smart enough (doubtful) to put a protective layer under the tape, it was probably prety painful to take off.

When I was working at wal-mart as a night stocker I used to see these two "upstanding" parents riding around on the motorized carts, yacking on there cell phones. They would be there with their very bad kids from about 1am to 4am. Just riding around. They are both highly annoying, talking very loudly but unintelligibly. Fat rude mouth breathers. I thought it was funny she got charged.

My thoughts exactly.

Did the kid still think it was a funny joke when mom had to remove all that from his head and hair?

I agree with HideMonkey. Over reacting to acts of stupidity and under reacting to obvious abuse seems to be America's norm any more.

My dad used to tie me up with rope.  I liked to see if I could free myself from it.  Most often, I could.  I'm sure that would be illegal now, too.

/Probably why I'm not into BDSM.

Agreed. The irony of it is that having fun and playing with your kids by putting duct tape on their heads to make them look like robocop is considered child endangerment when relatively no danger exists, while it is perfectly legal to take your kids rock climbing, boating, sky diving, snow skiing, and even to the most dangerous place in the world..the freeway. The more stupid Americans become the more liberal we become...or is that the other way around....either way,.

Yes, because all of those activities stimulate the economy (put money in someone's pockets).

If this is against the law and reason to take a kid away from a parent, what should we do with all those farkers who smoke in the vicinity of their child?

Would a young child nowadays know what robocop is ?  That movie was from 87 afterall.

It is about #748 on the level of importance in the whole Sandusky thing, but, it is a little sad that people make that connection with Sandusky, OH now instead of being home of one of the best roller coaster parks in the country.

My uncle used to pick me up and hold me by my ankles so that my mother could tickle me, back when I was 6 or so (my uncle was in high school; there is a ten-years age gap between my uncle and my mother). He would also hold me up by my upper arms (just under my armpits) and spin me around until I got dizzy (I don't think that I ever puked).

Sometimes my uncle would wrestle with us, occasionally giving us "indian burns" or noogies. Sure, they hurt, but we had a blast.

We also used to have rubberband wars. We would sneak around the house and shoot rubberbands at each other. And my mother was the queen of towel snaps. Yea, they stung, but we all had a good time. Nowadays my mother would be reported for child abuse because a rubberband could take my eye out or the towel snaps cause welts.

Geez.

When I was a teenager, my friends turned my into a duct-tape mummy, including covering my eyes, nose, and mouth.  The idea was to see how long I would be trapped.  I escaped in about 5 seconds.  We were disappointed.

Duct tape is miles away from child abuse.  This arrest is as retarded as the balloon releasing one.
