(TreeHugger)   If you build an underground greenhouse everyone's going to think you're going to use it to grow pot even if you're not using it to grow pot   (treehugger.com) divider line 5

Voiceofreason01: Matthew Keene: Zeno-25: Build a $300 underground greenhouse

Woah, renting a freaking excavator for a day must be cheaper than I imagined.

you've obviously never used one of those in your life if you think that's the tool you want to use for digging an 8ft deep hole 30-40ft long

Obviously you never had a cheap assed Dad/Uncle/Grandpa with lots of male heirs.

KrispyKritter: NutWrench: picturescrazy: NutWrench: Apparently it doesn't snow where that greenhouse is located because the first heavy, wet snow would crush that frame.

Wouldn't the plastic be warm enough to melt any snow as it landed and run off?

It would be, at first. But as the snow piles up, it will reflect the sunlight and cool down pretty quickly.

and there is some nasty vicious wind and ice in winter too. plastic sheeting and a few pieces of lumber would wind up blowing into your neighbors yard and pissing them off if it hit their car.

What good are neighbors if you can't piss them off?

I have a small green house in my back yard.  I wouldn't dream of putting pot plants in there as anytime any utility worker, or phone guy, or the guys that trim trees for power lines comes into the back yard, they always sneak a peek in there.  It's funny to see when they don't know you are watching.

/overwinter some plants
//propagate others for next spring
///sometimes extend the seasons of peppers and cherry peppers
