And Community's non-union, Mexican counterpart on Univision.

Oh hell yes. You don't need to know the language anyway. Spanish TV isn't exactly subtle.

I was going to say it is kharmic retribution for what NBC has done with mishandling "Community"

Sadly, the lesson NBC will take from this is "MOAR REALITY SHOW!" since shows like "The Voice" drove them to ratings success.

Meh...  I don't think there's anything inside of me that could give a shiat about network ratings.

I'm holding out hope that The Ocho takes its rightful place in the ratings

Which has to doubly chap NBC because Comcast/NBC owns Telemundo and not Univision.

I think four season is a fine place for the show to end.  I honestly thought the finale for season 3 was perfect for a series finale, but I can see a fourth year and have them all graduate.  I like the show well enough, but I really don't think I want to see a fifth season of it.  It's just getting too full of itself.

Fark all the major networks. When they actually leave a show on long enough to gain an audience they start jerking around the faithful viewers by moving the time slot until people give up. How and why people are paid good money to do this baffles my brain. It's as if they go out of their way not to have viewers.

-- also pisses me off when they chop up reruns. it takes an absolute dooshbag to cut key parts that are the funny bit that make the scene in Sunny in Philadelphia but i'll be gottdamned if Ch.11 doesn't do it every time they can. chopped scenes and cut dialogue is no ones friend.

Wow, Smash is back?  Since that's the only show I watch on NBC, I missed all the promos letting me know when it was back on.

Used to watch Revolution but that got so ridiculously stupid, it was physically painful to watch anymore.

Cable channels cannot compete with network stations when it comes to ratings. It has always been that way since cable's humble beginnings 70 years ago

this season isn't so bad as it is just kind of boring. For what it's worth, I'm not sure that even another Harmon-helmed season would really be much different. I'm not really looking forward to whenever Chang returns, though.

I wouldn't count on a season 5 as it seems like even the writers are kind of steering the show towards an actual finale.

also, is The Office actively trying to kill off any good will they accumulated earlier this season? This season started out so much better than the last few seasons, but ever since the doc crew have started to reveal themselves (and especially since Andy's return), the show seems intent on actively pissing off its viewers.

I think Abed said it best" "I remember when this show was about a community college".

Also, when Shirley was in the focus group and said people like Inspector Spacetime because it is: "smart, complicated and doesn't talk down to its audience." I couldn't tell if they were intentionally poking fun of the reasons people liked Community that they've completely gotten away from this season.

my guess is that that was unintended. I'm not entirely sure the showrunners really get the appeal of the show, but again, I think this is the path the show was going even with Harmon at the helm as well.

Didn't Univision used to be Telemundo. or are they separate entities? Anyway, when I first moved to Nashville I couldn't afford cable so I watched basic tv, that's how I discovered Telemundo. I loved how every program, even the children's shows, found some excuse to have 2 or 3 gorgeous, busty Latinas standing around in hot pants and go-go boots. Hispanic television is okay by me.

I also miss the commercials with the way overblown announcer. "Esta noche! Ooooonnnnn Telemundo - LOS GHOSTBUSTERS w/Ernie Hudson!!"

Agreed, and I'll add that their way of doing business is incredibly outdated.  Why waste money on shows you will only show a small percentage of?  Why not let a show that isn't doing as well as you wanted play in the slot to get some return on your investment?  Why not put them online so you can get a fanbase instead of throwing it all over the schedule?  This is why the article is hilarious:  "We need to find a hit," yet they are doing everything in their power to avoid doing so.  Their short-term thinking not only is sinking the network, it's sinking their entire business model because success is something they happen to luck into, nothing they can really plan for.

Then again, good riddance to bad rubbish.  The Glass Teat no longer really applies:  people don't set their watches to TV shows, they want them when they want to or all at once.  If the companies that make their bread doing this can't figure it out, to the trash bin they go.

I agree.  This season got off to a great start.  It really felt closer to the first few seasons that the last few seasons.  When they announced the documentary crew would be revealed, I was hoping for just a short gag, not another "risk to the marriage" subplot.  They tried that last year with Jim and the new chick and it failed horribly.  The show was also a lot better while Andy was AWOL.  Now he's back and even worse than usual.  Instead of just a simple annoyance, he's been made into a out-and-out villain.

he was easily the worst part of this first few episodes of the current season. The uptick in quality continued after he left. Even Gabe's return was more welcome than Andy's.

I think this season also would've benefited from being shorter as well. They started out with an end-game more or less announced, but I don't think they've been able to sustain that theme and have instead thrown in some god-awful subplots to keep the show moving.

They have "American Ninja Warrior". They're just as terrible at picking game shows as they are comedies and dramas.

There's a real short turnaround between FOX airing them and Adult Swim airing them.  Often just a couple weeks.

Mr. Coffee Nerves: Sadly, the lesson NBC will take from this is "MOAR REALITY SHOW!" since shows like "The Voice" drove them to ratings success.

That's the best case scenario .. Instead we'll get shiat like Animal Practice and Smash and some stupid farking medical drama to go with the stupid farking firefighter drama that has been done a billion times before. They probably peaked with Seinfeld (unless they were the ones running MASH) but the last hurrah was The Office/Parks & Rec/30 Rock/Community... that was the last best moment out of that network and to be honest I love those shows but they were too similar in format to be assured NBC had any clue to know what it was doing right. It was throwing shat on the wall and got lucky..
