I like it.

Yet another example of the advice many pros give to take great pictures:  F/8 and be there.

That probably will be the best I'll see today. The weather is too bad to see Mount Hood today.

Word association made me listen to Mississippi Queen five times.  Now, that's a slab of cock rock that casts a shadow into the sky.

Yeah, probably. But I'm sure as hell not spending time in Tacoma while it's dark.

Eerily similar to my junk being backlit by a lava lamp.

Not clicking an i09 link. Anyone repost the image? Or link the original, given the 'source' here?

That is a great picture.  Seattle is a really photogenic city.

My window from my barracks room at Ft. Lewis looked out toward Mt. Rainier to the east.  I experienced many early morning cool views of the sun rising behind the mountain.

What? A reverse pyramid amplifying power back toward Earth isn't in any way impressive to you?
I'm not saying it was aliens, but IT WAS ALIENS.

Pretty cool. Now I want to see a sunset shot with the shadow going the other way.

Unfortunately, this photo was taken on one of maybe twenty non-overcast days all year.

But the mountain belongs to Tacoma, where the original pic was taken.

That would be true even if you were at government camp :(

Snark aside, summer in the Pacific Northwest is some of the nicest weather/scenery on the planet.

It's true. The constant drizzling pays off with lush greenery and crisp air when it's nice outside. Even being an Edmonds area native, you come to like or at least accept the rain or clouds. Winters aren't too bad either unlike the Mid West or North East.

Still, it's not a real stretch of truth when people describe the weather around the Puget Sound.

That is very true. Unfortunately, it only lasts about 65 days and then it's back to gray. On the other hand, San Diego has farking awesome weather all year round. I will move back there some day. Some day.

I don't know why I laughed so hard at this, but you deserve the "funny" click for whatever purpose it serves.

Yeah, particularly when you put Queen Anne in the foreground rather than the industrial district/Boeing Field.
