zvoidx: Because there is always a camera readily-available, (instead of holding up a phone), things may start to get weird the day when strangers' faces will be accurately matched to a real or user name via online data...and whatever info is connected with that face.

I'd settle for being able to match real names with people I met at some point, but can't remember when but it might have been at that one event with the guy and the thing... like 3-12 years ago?

I'm eagerly anticipating the first injury/casualty attributed to these things, whether it be from a distracted driver, or maybe someone walking into a manhole cover.  Have we set up a betting pool yet?

I think that is the killer app.successful politicians and business people are often known for not forgetting a face or name. Imagine how you could network if you remembered everybody forever.

Pretty soon you wouldn't need to actually remember anything. Though then if you lost your glasses you'd forget who you were.

Mrbogey: Eh...one of the uses something like this could have is if it could display system specs and diagrams. That way I don't have to keep looking back and forth while trying to fix things.

Perfect for assembling those pesky Ikea entertainment centers!

I can't see more than five inches in front of my face without correction. I go to the Eye doctor and he asks the letter I can see; every time i have to say "I know the biggest one is 'E' but I can't see it.

tlchwi02: the thing i don't get is what precisely this offers me that i don't already have with my cell phone, other than uncomfortable feeling of wearing unecessary glasses, in exchange for a slightly quicker ability to take a picture.

This product offers several advantages over the cellphone.

One, you look less like an idiot with these glasses on. They allow you to walk around or stand around look like half an idiot, half cybernetic aids.

Two, the glasses are more visible than an ear bud or Bluetooth over-the-ear device, so people have better and earlier warning that an idiot is approaching, paying no attention to their environment. Instead of walking around talking to your self, you can walk around talking to your eyeglasses.

Three, when thieves snatch these off of you, they are less likely to rip off your hand or your ear. And trust me, at the prices that Google is charging, thieves will be taking a greater interest in these than in cellphones, which they can find lying around every where.

vernonFL: I already wear glasses :  (

First word problem I guess.

There's gotta be a way to retrofit it onto your current glasses. Come on, how many employees at Google *don't* already wear them?
