Al Rienert's amazing documentary For All Mankind dwells on this subject a bit, pairing voiceovers of the Apollo astronauts with footage they took on their missions to the moon, accompanied by Brian Eno's haunting score. It's pretty moving to hear a bunch of gung-ho fighter jocks speaking with thoughtful reverence about the frailty and beauty of the Earth against the backdrop of empty space.
