Gotta do something to get over that fear of heights.

I too was afraid of clicking the link, on account of the gayness imagined.

Freud would've had a field day with that.

Did they blow it all sky high, by telling a lie?  I suppose they could have touched the sky, but they blown it up sky high.

I love my home state because it's beautiful and my friends and family are there but holy crap does it have a serious problem with criminal a$$holes in government and private industry. I'll never forget Jimmy Griffin running Buffalo like a mobster out of a movie.

Here in Oklahoma we just elect retards that don't believe in science... We'll be a desert soon... but our leaders assure us global warming is a rumor spread by satan's minions.

I've never heard of construction workers referred to as hard hats. Is that NYC nomenclature? And is it a big surprise they drink and do drugs? Short of the Indians that they used back in the day to build highrise building, you have to be a bit bent to work up there it would seem.

And the people here are so, so proud that Obama did not carry a single county. There's right leaning, there's red states and then about a mile further right is Oklahoma.

Anybody who asks any slightly inconvenient questions about the WTC 'terrorist' attack is a traitor. Never forget that. Only communo-terrorist-muslimists who aren't true patriotics would ask questions like:

- Why did most Jewish employees who work at the WTC stay home that day?
- Where did the wreckage of the guided missil... SORRY, I MEAN PLANE that hit the pentagon go?
- Why did the shrub act completely unsurprised (on camera no less!) when he was told about it?
- Why after the collapse were some of the steel beams found to have clean cuts in them?

The US Midwest / west could become like the Sahara in the next few hundred years.  People underestimate the planet's ability to kill us off if we keep pissing it off.

The shifting band of rain, the   intertropical convergence zone, is migrating. It's not just a band of rain, though. It has an arid area on either side of it, and right now our activities as a species have been shifting the whole thing northwards.

You know the Chihuahuan Desert in Northern Mexico? It gets pushed northwards. It's already well into New Mexico and Texas, and no amount of Governor Prayer Circles is going to stop it turning our breadbasket into a sandbox in our lifetimes.

Well done, climate change deniers. You built this.

Probably weed. If they said weed most people would just shrug their shoulders and wouldn't be outraged.

If it was the hard stuff it would be in the article.

Who wants to bet this "drug ring" was just a couple of guys who would get weed for their friends at work

There is nothing wrong with asking questions. There is something wrong with accepting total bullshiat as an answer. Like the myth that there was no plane wreckage at the Pentagon.

-Why do you believe any of this?
-Why don't you talk about subjects you are actually knowledgeable on?
-Why do you feel the need to disseminate false information based on "urban legends" started by moonbats?

/ Was at WTC on 9/11/01, was on West St when 1 and 2 came down, and was as close as almost anyone while 7 burned and then fell.
// Worked on the clean-up of 1 and 7 WTC, and a bit of 2, 4 and 5, and saw no signs of anything but what would be caused by a plane crash, the fires, and the collapse of 1 and 2 WTC.
/// Worked on all of the new WTC buildings except 2 WTC and the Memorial
//// Am a licensed engineer with almost 20 years in high-rise construction
// Had friends in 1, 2 and 7.  Of those who made it out, even from upper floors, there was no mention of shenanigans.  And I assure you, I attended plenty (5) of Jewish funerals in the months that followed, along with Catholic (7), Protestant (4), Hindu (2) and Muslim (1).

NightOwl2255: I've never heard of construction workers referred to as hard hats. Is that NYC nomenclature?

No, it is common throughout the english speaking nations.
Similar to the "blue collar" / "white collar" nomenclature.

It refers to those that generally step into harms way (both white and blue collars often have similarly coloured hard hats, the red and yellow ones seem to be the hardest workers)

I agree with previous posters that anyone working on such a significantly dangerous project should probably not be doing drugs of any kind for their safety. Having said that Ive smoked pot with all of those categories but none of us should do that while working, wait til you are home to partake - it is both more enjoyable and safer.

// ANY drugs - I once burnt my finger on a tobacco cigarette during a business meeting in Shanghai, ... the huge manatee !!!

sorry for your friends.
appreciate your open and genuine description of an unbiased view of the events that occurred that day

// waiting on a friend to die (lung damage during his attempts to help rescue, very strong man he should have died years ago according to his doctor)
/ or his insurance to pay out (he was not on duty the day he threw his life into danger, they FINALLY approved the payout some years ago but still have not paid him a dime)

I used to work on slate roofs in the winter with some old-timers who would have 2 shots and 2 beers every day at lunch.

Reality is for those too chickenshiat to face drugs.

I wasn't surprised when I heard about it, I also thought the explosion/collapse looked beautiful. I was rather confused with the reactions from my classmates. 1k miles away in central MO, no attachment to anyone there and they were still visibly shaken/distraught by the video they saw.

/cold hearted and disconnected from reality

I guess none of these folks have ever met a painter.  I remember seeing those guys on ladders 3 stories up with a 1/2 pint of vodak in their back pocket.  So glad I got out of the trades in the 80's when I did.  My desk job is much perferable to installing toilets or digging up drain lines.

In related news, scores of construction workers flood the Dakota House, The Patriot, The Jane Street Pub and the Raccoon Lodge during lunch looking for alternate connections.
