Eh. Their bark is worse than their bang.

That's dumb.

The only thing that will stop a bad dog with a gun is a good dog with a gun.

Or some steak.

The author of that should be digging digging ditches.

First, it's not an "automatic".

The Dirty Harry quip was probably the lamest thing I have read outside of a Fark comments thread in a very long time.

Fark has sold out to the tabloids big time now, it's much worse than ever with this garbage that gets greenlighted all the time.

So the actually humans can't be trusted to carry the weapons?

Yeah but from its inception, Fark was never meant to be a place of serious well-mannered discussion (see politics tab for proof), just a website that links to all kinds of weird and usually humorous stories from around the world.

I do not believe this made up claptrap

The dog is carrying a gun but the cop standing next to him is not.

I'm worried that somebody could walk up to the dog and steal that gun.  Unless the minder is vigilant or the dog specially trained, this is a risk.

Fido wants an AR-15.

And if there's a shooting it will have to be followed by a... lab report?

Unless Drew is collecting a check from The Sun, and am guessing he's not, then how is this selling out?
Odd stories is one of the things that make this place interesting.
And word on the street is, you don't have to click on every link.

Well, I didn't see any real description of the weapon so it could very well be an automatic.

Not familiar with the Glock 18, I see.  Probably because it's illegal to own one in the U.S.

Now if it were some kinda of bark-activated gun mounted to it's head, that wouild be something. All that is is just a gun tied to a dog. What the fark will that do?

Other than a free source of guns if you have a supply of cat turds, I don't see what that will do for anyone.

Taking guns from dumb animals in American and giving them to dumb animals in Thailand. So at least, there is symmetry.

2013-02-22 09:24:44 AM
Unless its photoshopped, the only thing I can think of, is the gun is a backup for the cop.

But even if that part were true, the bad guy might be able to get the gun off the dog during a struggle.

Maybe it's because Thai dogs have a higher IQ than the average US gun nut.

No one is taking your guns right-wing doofus.

Not all gun enthusiast fit your narrow stereotype.  I'm probably the last person you'd expect to be a "gun nut" based on other interests.  (and statistically I'm smarter than someone who would make such an idiotic comparision.)*

While the majority of sensible and reasonable Americans work to take extreme and unnecessary guns out of the hands of people, police in Thailand are arming their dogs

Wow. So sensitive. Bet you'd think someone would come take all your guns away just because someone proposed a limit on the number of rounds in a magazine.

I'm not afraid of the government going door to door to seize firearms.  I'm not buying ammunition because i think it will become illegal in President Obama's 2nd term.  I'm pro-gun AND anti-NRA and limiting high-capacity magazine will do NOTHING to curb gun violence.  Millions of the magazines already exist and are moved on black markets worldwide.  We can't keep people from crossing our borders illegally and bringing in drugs, prostitutes, etc. what makes you think a ban on certain gun parts will do anything to : a) get rid of the ones already here OR b) keep people from bringing more in if the domestic supply is gone.

There is plenty of room for improvement but unless we're going to start building nothing but rounded corners, rubber rooms, and plastic utensils there will always be something dangerous within reach of bad people inclined to hurt other people.  I'd rather be prepared to defend myself against people like this instead of ASSUMING that they'll follow whatever laws tell them to "be good" and "behave".  We already know that some people have a propensity to rebellion no matter what the rules are.

I'm all for more expansive background checks and licensing but, overly burdensome* restrictions on law-abiding citizens only tilts the field in the favor of people who won't have any desire to follow the law(s) no matter what they say you can and cannot have.

*this is undefinable in concrete terms but, as an open-minded individual, I'm willing to have the discussions and debates that will clear up what this means in the nation's future.

Woah...... settle down, Beavis. I just simply stated a comment and you get all wordsplosion at me.

And your comments about the "overly burdensome" regulations are there for a reason. It's to keep nutbags from grabbing a gun and emptying a drum magazine into a preschool. Odd how it's easier to get a gun than it to become a US citizen in this country these days.

IMO, a citizen, in accordance to the constitution's clause of a militia, should be granted the ownership of one rifle and one hand pistol and a limited number of rounds at any one time and that's it. No more rednecks with an arsenal in their bunkers. No more of this "One Man Army" horsesh*t. A person shouldn't have more guns than the number of hands to put a gun into. AND, they should have the same requirements as in having a car, which is a mandatory firearms training and safety course they must pass, as well as sufficient liability insurance.

But I guess that's "overly burdensome" to you too, huh?
