I liked the latest Bourne movie...but I'd also love to see these 2 team up (and it's pretty clear that they have the same enemies in the CIA).  It would be 2 hours of ass-kicking fun.

When I saw the previews to Renner's Bourne I was a little peeved.  It was just a cash-cow continuance not based on anything Ludlum did.  I pretty much knew I wouldnt watch it.  But I got a free $10 Amazon Instant video card from a purchase I made.  I decided to use it on Bourne Legacy.  Boy, was I right.  It was a laughable sci-fi depiction of secret agencies and programs.  It tried to capitalize on the cliches Bourne was already known for (international travel, a car chase (this time motorbikes) and efficient combat) and failed at all of them.  Plus the story was silly packed with far too many coincidences to further the plot.  I dont mind someone taking a property and going further with it but this was a Spy-thriller property not a sci-fi super-soldier property.  Damon should pass the torch and honestly Renner is a great choice, but the way his character was defined was just awful.  Not his fault really but you can only do so much with a terrible script, story, and editing i guess.  At least I got to see it for free.

devilEther: MadSkillz: Dow Jones and the Temple of Doom: leave Damon to do bad leftist propaganda films.

Sorry, what are you referring to in terms of bad leftist propoganda films?

He's referring to 'Promised Land'. Because it's leftist to express concern over the air and water contamination and radiation exposure that results from fracking. it's rightist to ignore the danger to public welfare because the practice of fracking helps maximize the profits of the gas companies.

Not to mention that now the energy companies now use a different fracking mix that is totally not a problem, unlike the old one it replaced that also wasn't a problem.

The only issue I had with Legacy is that it undid all of what Bourne did in Ultimatum. Ultimatum felt like it completed the Trilogy and the "Good" CIA guys won over the corrupted CIA guys. Then Legacy came along and showed that the corrupted CIA agents were actually winning in the court case against them and making Lamdy look bad.

Renner's should have been Heir Bourne.

Bourne to Run

I think there's even an old song they could use....

devilEther: The air and water contamination and radiation exposure still exists whether people saw the movie or not.

The jury hasn't returned a conclusive verdict on that one yet.

That last Bourne movie was pretty garbage.
It felt sad and empty, just going through the motions.
The worst was the end they were on a boat, the rockin' Bourne music came on and it was like, 'wait, that's it?'

Tsar_Bomba1: To be honest... it felt like it just abruptly ended to me. Didn't really feel like it reached a satisfying conclusion.

That's actually a good description of how I feel about it too.  It just sort of...ended.

Will they bring back Franka Potente? Because she's like ... really cute. And stuff.

Mercury: johnnieconnie: I would love to see some Renner/Damon slash fic in lieu of another Bourne movie.

May I introduce you to AO3? http://archiveofourown.org/

Ooh, thanks!

Legacy felt like half a movie at a full movie runtime. It felt like there needed to be a whole 'nother chapter or two after they got on the boat.

Don't worry, they'll reveal those adventures in the next installment:  Motor Bourne'n

MadSkillz: Sorry, what are you referring to in terms of bad leftist propoganda films? I looked at the films listed recently for him and I doubt The Adjustment Bureau is leftist, because other than being about magic people with hats, it's about self-determination.

Also, "We Bought a Zoo"?

As a member of F.A.G it is his duty to make bad leftist propaganda films.

Nadie_AZ: I loved the first and enjoyed the next 2. I did not see Legacy and don't know if I will.

I read the first 2 books. What I enjoyed about those was how human Bourne was. I missed this part of him in the movies and wonder what they are going to do, now.

Actually, the point of Legacy is that Renner's character is more human.  The program he was in was to replace Treadstone, which produced people that were too cold and emotionless.

All in all a decent movie.  Watched that and Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol on a long flight recently.  Renner was good in both.  While he's already a little old to sustain the action film stuff for long, he's decent enough.  Hollywood seems to be over the more bulked out Karl Urban, The Rock, Sam Worthington, and Vin Diesel phase it went through and Renner is more of the Tom Cruise/Bruce Willis variety, so he'll get the roles for a while until it comes back around again.

This Fall Jason Bourne tries to take down the kingpin in a ruthless sex trafficking scheme. Jason Bourne is Bourne into Brothels!

Bourne Legacy should really have been renamed "Meanwhile, in Alaska"

How about we just pretend Legacy never happened and make a fourth movie

The comments were correct... the new movie plot was WEAK!

Lets get some drugs so super elite agent doesnt become Jimmy the drooling retard?

There was no purpose or mission or anything resembling a plot until half way through the movie.

Yes, it was great to give us some back story to the programs, but they could have approached this much better

Renner and Damon in the same movie.   Bourneback Mountain?

I still have no idea what any of those movies are actually about, and I watched the first two.

I love Jeremy Renner. Far be it from me to complain when he gets sweaty and partially disrobed, but it would be nice for him to get a chance to actually act once in a while.

i am NOT a ghey, but at least Cruise and Willis are good looking guys. Renner looks like some backwoods wannabe action-hero actor. He completely killed Legacy for me and i thought he pretty much sucked in Avengers also.

Renner didn't suck in The Avengers. Hawkeye sucked in The Avengers.
