If they're going to completely forget about doing weather on the 8s for some lame-ass reality show, they can shut down, go fark themselves, and be disrupted by men in horse costumes every day as far as I care.

I love it when people do stuff like this. The more the media tries to make a news story out of everything as if they have control over it, the more someone should show up and do something that Does Not Compute.

GAT_00: Oh dear, now they can't talk seriously about how Q is coming to kill us.

Yea I wanted to stab them every time they said Q. Weather people- we don't want to name winter storms. There aren't enough super serious ones for them to need names. I can just say 'that storm in '06'. I'm not sure hurricanes need names either. Newsflash: we have dates for a reason. They tell us when events took place. SO lets use them.

csnake24: What's up with this idiocy?  How is this funny in any way?

In the absurdist, surreal, dada-esque way, it is a funny. In the concrete, dull-normal, humpy-part-of-the-curve, traditional vaudeville telling a "joke" kind of a way, it is not.

On NBC Nightly News, they showed Cantore live reporting four inches of snow. Four. The coverage on this storm has been atrocious. Now, I completely understand that they collectively misjudged the storm and that it was much more severe to the south and that eyeballs on the TV come before anything else, but now they're just embarrassing themselves.

I would really like to see Cantore photobombed in every storm, especially if they're persisting with the naming of them. That's really stupid.

I could get behind that project.

Thanks for link. I vaguely recalled a similar incident and now I'm wondering if this is somehow related and not a coincidence.

If I worked for the NWS, there wouldn't be a day that goes by where I didn't call into the Weather Channel offices and harangue them live, on air, for this new storm-naming bullshiat.  Maybe the calls would stop once the bullshiat stops.  Most likely I'd find something new to ream them out over.
