You can't beat Anne Margaret in that tight body suit squirming around in pork and beans, so don't even try.

doczoidberg: Grandemadaca: List fails with out PJ Soles singing "Rock n Roll High School" in Rock n Roll High School.

/Oh, and the Ramones were very good in it, too.

I was thinking of the scene with her in the bra and panties.

Hot!

Seth'n'Spectrum: The Flexecutioner: Damn It Feels Good To Be A Gangster (Geto Boys)- Office Space (printer scene)

Except that's not rock and roll.

How about:

Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels - Hundred Mile High City

Except that Killah Priest was in the RS list for Ghost Dog.  The Rock N Roll part wasn't literal.  Also, rock n roll is a vague arguable definition for many inclusions anyway.

Sweet Home Chicago?  Everybody Needs Somebody? Twist 'n Shout? Johnny B. Goode (even if it was a studio band and not Chuck himself)? All You Need Is Love? Tequila?

If they hadn't nailed 4 through 1, I would've pegged the list as total fail. As it is, its just mostly fail.

aiiee: Good list, buuuuuuut:

"Something In The Air Tonight" Phil Collins in "Risky Business" perhaps the greatest rocknroll moment in film

Also 2! not one but 2! appearances by Captain Beefheart:
  1.  The song "Hard Workin farked Over Man" in "Blue Collar" was the great opening sequence where factory sounds were an integral part of the music.
annd
2.  "Her Eyes are a Blue Million Miles" in The Big Lebowski.

I've watched The Big Lebowski probably 30 times and for the life of me, I can't place that song in it.

2013-02-22 01:18:01 PM
13. Alice Cooper, 'School's Out' in 'Dazed and Confused' (1993)

True. Coop in Tim Burton's Dark Shadows last year was also epic.

2013-02-22 01:20:52 PM

DrZiffle: Two of the great entrances in film:

"Jumpin' Jack Flash" in Mean Streets

"The Hurricane" in Dazed and Confused

Huh? I could have swore the opening song in Dazed and Confused was "Sweet Emotion". Or are you referring to a specific character's "entrance" music?

2013-02-22 01:38:52 PM
"Stuck in the Middle" from Reservoir Dogs.
"The Big Payback" from Dead Presidents
"Shipping off for Boston" from The Departed
ALL Dick Dale songs from Pulp Fiction
I will echo "Layla" from GoodFellas

2013-02-22 01:49:28 PM

I humbly put forward:

Goodbye Horses (buffalo bill)
and even
Goodbye Horses (clerks2)

\\ no, I wouldn't
\ not you either.

Horribly underrated.

I kind of dug the scene in the van where "The Immigrant Song" played in "School of Rock". Then again I love that entire movie. My only beef is that "Ned" should have used Deep Purple as the rockin' keyboard example to his student. Highway Star, dammit!

Meh. Ghost Dog and Do the Right Thing are excellent selections.

Where's Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds from Wings of Desire? Jimmy Cliff from Harder They Come? Otis Redding from Monterrey Pop? A better Big Lebowski would be TVZ's cover of Dead Flowers.

And as an aside, Tarantino and Scorese get all the love for soundtracks but there is nobody better than Jim Jarmusch. He gets the right people to do the right sound for his flicks.

Three-Headed Dog: Meh. Ghost Dog and Do the Right Thing are excellent selections.

Where's Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds from Wings of Desire? Jimmy Cliff from Harder They Come? Otis Redding from Monterrey Pop?

Otis Redding at Monterey is a great performance, but FTA I got the impression they weren't looking at movies that were essentially concerts.

Tak the Hideous New Girl: What? No fireworks exploding from Reggie Wanker's (Malcolm McDowell) codpiece in "Get Crazy"?

Fail.
