Well....it sure the hell ain't Farmville.  Might actually be worth a look.

The only way I would authorize a Game of Thrones 'app' on Facebook is if I could violently take out my right-wing, fundie relatives*, Game of Thrones-style.

*Dear FBI surveillance: that was not meant to be a factual statement - I love all my relatives

I've been signed up for beta forever, still no luck getting in.

Marvel: Avengers Alliance is not a bad Facebook game either for what it is; but I'm always a sucker for that old school Final Fantasy fighting stuff.

I haven't been able to get any other ones to keep my attention for more than a day or two.

I lucked out for the closed beta testing phase, have been playing around a month now. It's not what I expected, but it's a fun diversion with a good storyline. Not a huge time commitment at all.

OtherLittleGuy: "You're invited to play Slap the Shiat out of Joffrey!"

That is an actual quest. No joke.

If they actually named it that, I will pay them actual money to play their game.

I've never watched "Game of Thrones," but I've heard it described.

It this going to be a game full of creepy incest? Because I already fell for that once when a friend said, "dude, you have to try this game. It's called a 'visual novel.'"

He is now an ex-friend.

Only 2 people in GoT are incestual, really.

Daenerys never diddled her brother Viserys on camera, so no they don't count.  Historically it's implied to happen a great deal, but by the time of the series, it's mostly fallen out of fashion.

In the book they explicitly say Daenerys was a virgin when she married Drogo. The fact she was 13 when she was married off is a different story.

The Dragon Age game looked interesting too, and then that ended up being "CLICK ON STUFF QUEST".

Not holding my breath.

It's probably Farmville.

Makes you wonder about other medieval courts. You think maybe Prince Adam and Princess Adora thought about getting down?

The main problem with Facebook games is that they force you to spam your supposed friends' feeds with crap about you playing and requests begging for their help. The only Facebook game I've played is Jeopardy, because I don't have to do anything "social." I might check this out if it doesn't have any ridiculous "social" aspects.

i don't recall being forced to anything like that back when i twiddled with the games. it WAS an option, basically a sort of passive-agressive 'pay to win' sort of scheme, you get rewards for sucking in more players/etc.

people aren't forced to do anything. many FB games reward players who invite friends and get 'neighbors' and they in turn help each other to earn little pieces and parts, upgrade and what-not. some people actually enjoy interfacing with other people, and they sometimes even get to know each other over time. but I can see how our Jeopardy playing friend wouldn't want to do anything 'social' on a purely social website like FB. God forbid.

If it were actually social and not just pesky and needy, I wouldn't mind.

To use facebook games I'd have to enable the app platform which I refuse to do, *that* is the thing that opens you up to all the 3rd parties and any 3rd parties your friends had been tricked or opted into.

I'm actually enjoying it. It has actual storylines and quests you can pick responses to. And not once have I felt compelled to spam 50,000 friends to get objective objects to progress. I like watching my little citadel unfold and being able to be an Old Gods worshipping biatch. It's good times.

Yeah, I'm on that one too. Haven't given a cent of real money and I only pester other friends who play it, and the experience has been just fine.

/now if you'll excuse me, I have a British captain to afford
