I love the fact that de Havilland's Beaver has its own Wikipedia page.

Cyberluddite: I honestly had no idea that either one of them was still alive. Wow.

And the lesson to take away from this is Hate Sustains You.

Eirik: Adalius: And we interrupt this report with some breaking news, the passenger airship Hindenburg has just exploded. 36 reported dead including one ground crew member. More news to follow.

My Word!  I dropped my monocle into my cup of tea when I read that!  I blame Roosevelt!

Frankfurter HITLER Roofartvelt could have saved the Hindenburg if he could have walked into the field where it was landing. And that fish kissing doll dizzy dyke dame of his could have filled the Dirigible up with good old fashioned non-flammable air if she knew how to wrap her lips around a stem like a proper lady instead of only knowing how to daddle some janey and go bumper to bumper.

browneye: Today the 95- and 96-year-old still don't speak.

You know now that I re-read the article, this is pretty damn sad.

Especially as I didn't know either one of them was still alive.

It's one of my favorite Hollywood stories. Usually I'm on Team Joan, but now and then I switch for fun. My belief is that they are both still alive because they are still trying to outdo each other.

Bermuda59: mrsdish: browneye: De Havilland is, of course, well known for her role as Melanie Hamilton Wilkes inGone With the Wind.

Not to me.

To me, Olivia de Havilland will always be the Maid Marion in The Adventures of Robin Hood with Earl Flynn (who will always be the Robin Hood).

Pretty sure you mean Errol Flynn.

I know de Havilland from 'The Heiress' with Montgomery Clift, which is where I saw her first. I admit to having not seen GWTW until about a year ago. Also Montgomery Clift...*sploosh*.

Earl Flynn appeared in movie version of 'Rarnaby Budge' by Charles Dikkens. That's Dikkens with two Ks, the well-known Dutch author.

How about a sale of two titties?
