I love the fact that de Havilland's Beaver has its own Wikipedia page.

Of course they don't, Now - all they remember is that Mommy told them never to talk to strangers.

Fontaine will never get the part, I don't care how many greasy woo goombahs come crawling out of the woodwork.

They should settle this with fisticuffs before they get too old.

I honestly had no idea that either one of them was still alive. Wow.

De Havilland is, of course, well known for her role as Melanie Hamilton Wilkes inGone With the Wind.

Not to me.

To me, Olivia de Havilland will always be the Maid Marion in The Adventures of Robin Hood with Earl Flynn (who will always be the Robin Hood).

Nowadays, the two of them engage in a pissing contest by flinging their depends at each other.

Wow. Olivia de Haviland and Joan Fontaine are still alive. And they're sisters.

Learn something new every day.

Today the 95- and 96-year-old still don't speak.

You know now that I re-read the article, this is pretty damn sad.

Especially as I didn't know either one of them was still alive.

In Rebecca, the similarity of Joan to Olivia is striking.

They've both come back on occasion, though obviously not the same occasion, to speak at Los Gatos High.

Yeah, I've got a Dead Pool to enter tomorrow.  I keep either getting Micky Rooney or Robert Mugabe.  I'll have to consider de Haviland.

Pretty sure you mean Errol Flynn.

I know de Havilland from 'The Heiress' with Montgomery Clift, which is where I saw her first. I admit to having not seen GWTW until about a year ago. Also Montgomery Clift...*sploosh*.

You know what's odd about out Cliff to me? He was a better actor when he was young and unknown than after he became MONTGOMERY CLIFF. He's awesome in "The Search."

I didn't know he had been injured badly in a car wreck midway through his career, but you can tell his acting becomes stiff and unnatural after "Raintree County." It's a shame.

It's a strange thing- we have so many more Hollywood news and gossip channels than we ever did before, and yet Hollywood is far more boring than it was back in the studio system days.

MFAWG: Didn't Fontaine sleep with Clark Gable mostly to spite DeHavilland, and then end up having a child by him?

Did she?  I know that Loretta Young had a secret child with Gable.

It's one of my favorite Hollywood stories. Usually I'm on Team Joan, but now and then I switch for fun. My belief is that they are both still alive because they are still trying to outdo each other.
