shoegaze99: At this point, it's pretty clear that Harry Potter wasn't a passing fad or flash in the pan. It will unquestionably still be with us in a few decades.Hunger Games, 50 Shades, etc.? Yes, they are of their time. These things will fade. Harry Potter isn't and won't.

While many of today's classics weren't big in their day, just as many were.
