How did the glass across the street get blown OUT?  You'd think that the pressure wave would blow it into whatever building it was.  Lucky too that the utility trucks were blocking the street where the blast blew into.  If they weren't there there probably would have been a line of cars waiting at the light.

/of course if they weren't there they probably wouldn't have set off the gas main....

I like how the first cars at the light got the fark out of there.

If you look closely, right before the explosion you can see a car with a large pod attached to it crash into the building.
You'll need to slow it down and enhance the video using the latest NCIS computer technology, but you can see it.

/I'm off to tell Infowars...

That's what usually happens, apparently.  The initial blast wave breaks the glass, which allows the return wave to suck it out towards the explosion.

Rebound and the vacuum behind the pressure wave. The initial shock pushes the glass inwards, but there's air behind it too which compresses and resists the pressure. Unless the initial shock is huge, this isn't enough to shatter the glass...
But then the glass then rebounds simultaneously as the area of low pressure behind the pressure wave arrives to "suck" the glass outwards. The result is a significantly greater deflection outwards than inwards, and is enough to shatter the glass.

Frankly, I would think someone with your handle would've known this. ;)

Ok, that makes sense.  Thanks.

Well, at least he wasn't coughing and crinkling candy wrappers.

A 30-second commercial before a 20-second clip? They aren't making enough money on all the marketing scripts they have running?

Lame video anyway.

It was a joke jerk off.
Even Mark Ratner signed off with "/jk", which means just kidding.
I expounded by comparing the non-photographer to people who pirate movies with a camcorder, implying that the clip was a "screener" as well.

I've got family in KC. Let Bay destroy STL.

Hell, if he wants to make an apocalypse film he can go to Detroit. They already built the set.

Still needs to be a nefarious motive. I suggest claiming a guy who was about to release a free energy device to the world was inside the building and the illuminati took him out.

I love that AARP bought ad time on that.
