Typical false flag operation from the Obama junta.  His regime is just covering for the Friends of Hamas through their goons, the Masons, the Teamsters, and the The Satan's Helpers.

I remember the cabal attempting this kind of thing like the Chicoms and the Norks back in 'Nam.  Watch out for the stalking horse and other cool sounding quasi-conspiromilitary jargon.  Don't look behind the curtain.  Wheels within wheels.  The man in the black pajamas.

Rapmaster2000: Typical false flag operation from the Obama junta.

Junta? Obama and his fluffhead flunkies ALL have had contact with Hamas. Going all the way back to when Obama got turned on to David Bowie in college and used to go to dinner and a movie with Michelle, they met at a Lebanese restuarant known for their extra foamy cappucinnos. The coffee cost $5, which was a lot back then, but part of the fee was turned over to Islamic radicals, it was all done in secret.

If you think I enjoy pointing all this out, I don't. I myself just want a little sanity back in the White House. Whats going on now is simply ridiculous.

Right wing noise machines like Breitbart.com engage in the question begging epithets that so often characterize modern yellow journalism.

It's not news it's....well, it actually is the news today.  At least the news "business" undertaken by horrible, evil little turds like Ben Shapiro and his ilk.

I suspect they do, they simply know that the rubes don't care and won't remember. There's a lot of money to be made in telling idiots what they want to hear, if you're unburdened by a conscience. I would rather drive a car that's a couple years old and be able to sleep at night.

Gotta love this quote:

Hagel was in hot water for alleged hostility to Israel. So, I asked my source, had Hagel given a speech to, say, the "Junior League of Hezbollah, in France"? And: What about "Friends of Hamas"?

The names were so over-the-top, so linked to terrorism in the Middle East, that it was clear I was talking hypothetically and hyperbolically. No one could take seriously the idea that organizations with those names existed - let alone that a former senator would speak to them.

But even that isn't as hilarious, in retrospect, as people who use brietbart in an argument, i.e.:

Called for comment and reached via telephone, Associate Communications Director at the White House Eric Schultz identified himself, heard the question, was silent for several seconds, and then hung up the phone immediately without comment. Called back via the White House switchboard, Schultz's phone rang through to his answering machine. Called on his cell phone, Schultz's phone rang through to his answering machine.

Nothing funny about it.  His accountant released the average amount paid, percentage range or something like that.
If you want to say his accountant lied about the summary, you could then just later go with saying he lied if he released the tax returns.

As a journalist, you shouldn't say anything that can be made a rumor that has terrible political ramifications. So while his intention wasn't to derail the Hagel nomination, he still should've known better that something as satirical as that comment would cause problems especially when it's with this current crop of Republicans

No he's right.  It was funny.

Romney brought it on himself, because he pretty obviously had something to hide.  Reid knew Romney wouldn't release his tax returns under any circumstances, and his stunt basically served to point that fact out.  It illustrated the point that Romney had no business whatsoever running for president, and it worked.

So yep.  Pretty funny IMHO.

Yep. That is why he could not counter that. There is a lot of evidence for it, including huge amounts of money apparently transferred to his kids that year tax free one; of the special "perks" available to the uber rich to compensate them for the inconvenience.

Let's call the idea that Romney didn't pay taxes for 10 years a rumor. Pretty damaging, eh? But apparently whatever would have been revealed in those tax returns were determined by the Romney campaign to be more damaging than the potentially false assumption that zero dollars in taxes were paid for 10 years.

Think about that.

The whole electorate knew he was stinking rich, that was never in question. What was in question was just how filthy and underhanded he was as a human being to acquire that wealth.

Friedman takes quite a grilling in this HuffPost interview, and definitely comes off as part of the problem, as well as a bit of a dick.  That he won't reveal a source that burned him tells you all you need to know about the relationship between reporters and those they cover.  Can't risk our precious, precious access, even if it means we get played for dupes every now and again.

Actually the funny part is that his entire pathetic ideology was roundly rejected by the american people leaving him and his equally ridiculous cohorts with nothing save the knowledge that they will be left on the trash heap of history serving only as an object for ridicule and disgust.

But the tax return thing is pretty amusing too.

The rumor spread in the conservative press after Breitbart News, citing Senate sources, that Hagel had ties to "Friends of Hamas," a group that almost certainly does not exist.

And they aren't ever going to get called out on this bullshiat, are they? They didn't have "sources", because the group doesn't exist. They had hearsay and didn't bother to do 15 seconds of Google Fu. Fark these shiatheels.

1.  Reporter asks his "source" (presumbably someone in government close to Hagel or the White House) whether or not Hagel ever took money (for speeches) from "Friends of Hamas".  Reporter means terrorist-sympathizing groups, not an actual group called "Friends of Hamas".

2.  Source misinterprets the question.

3.  Source mentions to others in the government and/or the media that there is a reporter asking around about Hagel taking money from a group called the Friends of Hamas.

4.  Whoever the source gave this information to told others in the government and/or media and word spread behind the scenes quickly.

5.  Reporter calls the White House and asks if Hagel ever took money from a group called the Friends of Hamas.  The White House hangs up on him.

6.  Reporter prints that people are asking around behind the scenes if Hagel ever took money from a group called the Friends of Hamas and that when he asked the White House, there was no comment.

7.  Congressmen read this information and asks Hagel and the White House if Hagel ever took money from a group called the Friends of Hamas.  They will not vote on his confirmation until they are given information regarding everyone Hagel has taken money from (presumably to confirm whether or not he has taken money from terrorist-sympathizers).

------

I fail to see how the Congressmen are at fault.  In fact, I fail to see how anyone in the chain is at fault, except for the person at the White House who hung up on the reporter in Step 5, instead of simply saying "No, Hagel hasn't taken money from a group called the Friends of Hamas," or "According to our best intelligence, no group named the Friends of Hamas exists."  The White House farked up and prolonged a non-issue much longer than necessary, rather than just being helpful to the reporter and/or the Congressemen - that is not the fault of the reporter and Congressmen.
