ehhh.....i'll agree that her face isn't spectacular -- there are about as many "bad" pictures of her as there are good -- but she isn't ugly.  and she can photograph realy well.

i mean, give me katherine legge or ana beatriz if you want to talk about homely IndyCar drivers.

My bro-in-law has been in a Crossfit gym for about 8 months now and has tried to get me involved a few times. He doesn't talk about it much but is there most nights a week for an hour or so, seems pretty demanding/rigorous but he digs the "friendly competition" angle and he's in the best shape I've ever seen, and this is a guy who's done marathons and long-distance cycling and has been a diet/fish-oil/whey protein nut for the 10 years I've known him. He thankfully isn't one to talk your ear off about it though, unless you ask.

Can't say it isn't appealing, but I'm afraid I'm too lazy. Maybe the whole community aspect would do me some good. I like the idea though, although I hear a lot of remarks about the Crossfit stereotype... he's the only one I know doing it but from the nature of the thing and his descriptions it sounds like there's at least some of the "26 minutes" type dudes.

The ratio of 26-minute douches in Crossfit in comparison to your usual globo-gym is a lot less. Also, your typical workout usually takes about 26 minutes... Not including the stretching and instruction that takes place in every class.

I felt awkward about jumping into it as well--watching all the videos can be intimidating, but there are more "regular" people trying Crossfit every day. As for me, two years later, I'm 15 pounds lighter and in better shape than I've ever been in my life at age 29.  Imet a lot of awesome people who genuinely care about my fitness--and lost the friends that didn't, and started having FUN in the gym again. It's not a chore to go work out.

It can be pricey (upwards of $100 a month, depending on the gym) and I think that's where a lot of the "elitism" criticism comes from, but what those people don't realize that it's more expensive paying for a personal trainer one that doesn't have an Olympic weight lifting certification, like Crossfit coaches are *required* to have. My wife just got her Level 1 this week.

In short, it's more than just jumping around (like  tricycleracer's post would suggest) and I can't recommend it enough.

These days? In Cup? Not a prayer, those pit crews are staffed by seriously elite athletes. The NFL combine also serves as a stat gathering session for Cup crew chiefs.
