Perhaps we should Give Joe Firearm Safety Lessons

No pump action for you. Biden says all you need is a double barrel shotgun... and burn off your two rounds on a (probably) illegal warning shot.

Probably? He has a rich guy house, so like FPS Russia he can shoot safely into the woods. No one who gets hit can sue if it's posted.

Haha. Well I guess for us commoners a reckless endangerment charge is the best we can hope for.

At least this vp didn't actually fire his shotgun at someone.

LOL.

I mean, you can fire most shotgun rounds in the air and nobody gets anything but rained on, but still.

AR-15's are "harder to aim and harder to use" according to Joe.

So no reason to ban them. Sweet.

He's the new gun control spokesman, after all.

At first I thought Joe was just talking out of his ass again, but I guess a shotgun worked pretty good for that guy in California yesterday.

True that, but we're not even people. You have to be landed gentry to be people. The difference between the Democrats and Republicans is the voter base they appeal to, not their own lifestyle.

It's funny. All the gun nuts I know (and pretend to listen to while drinking) use to tell me how great a shotgun was for home defense until Biden started saying this, now they all are distancing themselves from that recommendation.

I'm sure by your definition I have an "arsenal".  I just think of it as a collection passed down through the family for generations that I'm making my contributions to.

Every time crazy uncle Joe steps in front of a microphone the gun control clique becomes sillier and less relevant. By the time he's done we will have the 1986 ban reversed and full auto AKs will be free with the purchase of a full tank of gas.

Shotguns are decent for home defense (I don't recommend them, preferring to recommend pistol caliber semi automatic carbines such as 9mm AR-15s or the CX4). And nobody recommends using a double barrel shotgun for home defense either. You get a semi or pump.

But telling people to go fire warning shots off your front porch to scare off criminals is pants on head retarded.

Shotguns are great for home defense, especially for those that are in no way comfortable with holding a handgun and use it as a "last line of protection" while locked in the bedroom.  Firing both of your shots out of a double-barrel shotgun straight into the air?  Come on.... that's not common sense.

Having shot trap, I can safely say that reloading a double barreled shotgun can be done in about 1.5 seconds with minimal training.

Actually it's the opposite.  They're trivially easy to use.  That's what makes them so effective, and so dangerous.

I agree, but let's do it in the dark, without a shotshell vest and any extra ammo either tucked in your pajamas or in your fumbling hands due to the adrenaline all while trying to see if someone is running towards you or going into your kids bedroom.

Harder to use against a single target (like an intruder), easier against a crowded environment (like a classroom)

I said, Jill, if there's ever a problem, just walk out on the balcony here, walk out, put [up] that double barreled shotgun and fire two blasts outside the house."

A: He's violating a major rule of firearm safety there. Well he isn't, but he's advising his wife to. It really IS the anti-gun crowd we have to watch out for, it seems.

B: After Jill wastes both of her shotgun blasts on nothing, she's vulnerable while she has to reload. I be they're wishing they had something with a magazine on it at this point...

I'll agree with that, I'm just entertained by how quickly people distance themselves from things they once said that are close to something Biden said. I still want someone in the current administration to say, "We think drinking the chemicals under the sink is a bad idea!"

If you're missing an intruder in a hallway at less than 7 yards, I think we need to practice more.

Nobody's taking into account that most people wouldn't stop to grab a pocketful of shells, and even if they did, probably wouldn't get them out of that pocket in 1.5 seconds, especially when they are in a stressful situation. Trap shooting is a nice, calm, controlled environment where you have you ammo ready to go. Scaring off intruders isn't. Besides, who's gonna train her? The guy who just violated one of the 3 basic gun safety rules?
