Unmanned police stations are pretty common in poor or sparsely populated areas of the United States. In some areas, the volunteer fire department serves as the police as well even. They take calls from their homes, and even leave other jobs to respond.

Some do so for no pay at all.

Without amazing people who are willing to volunteer, some areas of the United States could not afford to, or would not have any Police, Fire, or EMS/Rescue coverage.

Yeah but still, we need to cover all the bases.

Ahem: Those donut farking pigs are too fat and lazy to arrest a murder suspect when he turn himself in and all they wanna do is dress up in their SWAT geat and kill his dog and burn down his house, anyway. Waaaarrrgaaarrrrble!

Now that that's done, this thread can be logical and well behaved, right? Right?

Oh, I RTFA, I just wanted a chance to plug volunteerism for our US Farkers. Seriously, guys, if your town or county is a volunteer system, and you are able bodied and have some spare time, see if you can help out in any way. Most volunteer systems are grossly understaffed because they don't let people know they are recruiting very well. State and Federal benefits that not many people know about, plus you get to drive the woo-woo trucks around and cut people's clothes off (with a few weeks of education and a passing National Registry FR Score)

Eh, at any rate, borka borka borka.

"It seems really strange and totally bizarre that he was told to go away when he's suspected of murder. He must have been very confused," Alhem told the Expressen newspaper.

Won't someone think of the confusion of suspected murders?

While 99% of cops don't do that shiat, the 1 % who do behave like assholes give people a bad impression of everybody.

So true. Many of us are in debt to volunteers who come out under horrible weather conditions to help people in most unpleasant times. They are real life heroes. I read something about newer communities where it's all people of wealth and there are no common good hearted willing volunteers among them. So they either pay sky high taxes for paid around the clock emergency services or they go cheap and have to wait for responders to come from towns away. Locking out everyday people with sky high housing prices can come back to bite one in the butt.

Yeah, the Sydsvenskan newspaper were invited along by this guy to cover the story (to make sure he wasn't treated bad, I suppose), so I'm guessing that the newspaper guys knew fine well which specific station wouid give this standard response. Probably the 'journalists' home town, where they'd been SHOCKED, SHOCKED to find that they dot the same response when trying to report their cycle stolen, and this is a better headline, covering the same topic, than "Bike-theft report snubbed by local lazy pigs"

Is this the equivalent of "Olly, olly, oxen free"?

www.sydsvenskan.se

the opening hours are marked clearly on the door.

There's no way in hell that this isn't deliberate by the newspaper. Sure, the cops were dumb as fark for not at least coming down to check that this guy was legit, but I can imagine them thinking that it may have been a hoax, and those 3 flights of stairs are a loong way, and i've all this paperwork to do from the 36 immigrant kids I busted with narkotics (1 j between them), then I have to take all their blood tests to see if they have narkotics, like hasch, in their system, and if they do, then get all 36 search warrents to raid their homes for narkotics like hasch. Have you any idea how long that takes? We're closed.

The 99% may not do it themselves, but they sure are quick to rush to the defense of those who get caught.

That doesn't necessarily make all of them equally bad, but the decent cops aren't exactly helpless bystanders who can do nothing but watch as their entire profession is torn down from the inside out by the tiny handful of bad cops.

Oh no, I damn sure won't defend them for that, but look what happens to cops who speak up. Snitches get stitches self inflicted gun shots to the back of the head while they sleep.
