NRA?  anyone?

Unlikely. Making bombs has traditionally been the hobby of left-leaning activists. The NRA leans right.

That's a common misconception. Actually the Klan, the Dixie Mafia and the Posse Comitatus/Christian Identity were quite well versed in bomb-making and far more active as groups. A few leftists grabbing headlines because of the Weathermen does not a trend make.

If he does really well, maybe someday he can go on to advise the President.

My troll color is orange, personally. But in your case, you're too lazy to even be worthy of that. Better to just not see your posts in the future.

Having lived in Aurora for about 12 years before I finally escaped, I can honestly say that the rash of crazy psychos in the city lately come as no surprise to me.  Also, I find it interesting that they are coming from the "good" and rehabilitated neighborhoods (like Fitz and over near the AFB) rather than "in the hood" like along Mississippi and Havana where all of the scary Muslims that led to the town being called "Saudi Aurora" by the stuck up folks along the Front Range call it.

headncloudz: I live in Colorado. Aurora is our Florida. Keepin' it classy.

yeah, what the hell is it with aurora? it isn't really all that much different from the rest of the denver metro, yet its so chock full of this kind of insanity it makes the head spin. i have known several people from there, all of which were either into just this sort of thing and/or would not surprise anyone should they appear on the evening news.

what exactly leads to a hive of middle class white people getting into playing with sawing off shotguns, booby-trapping their yards, and making pipe bombs and homemade silencers?
its like the whole place has a 24/7 live feed of fox news wired directly into their brains.

Yeah, pretty much this. My boyfriend literally lives across the street from where this happened and he wonders why I always make fun of him for living in the ghetto.

/Would never and will never live in Aurora, I'm too close for comfort at my current residence as it is.
//I am 100% positive I will die in a fiery car wreck in Aurora, those people have got to be the worst drivers in the metro area.

Galloping Galoshes: Probably just a guy doing do-it-yourself fireworks.  Still dangerous, though.

I considered that possibility.  I occassionally experiment with "sugar" (potassium nitrate+ sucrose) rockets, but have also tried gunpowder versions.  I reckon there's a fair chance that if the fire department or cops found one of my homemade rocket engines they might panic over "pipe bombs" and throw me in the slam.

I generally make sure that I use up all my propellant on the same day I make it, to remove long-term hazards.  Cops would still probably get excited at finding my stash of milled sugar, charcoal and KNO3.

Traditionally, yes. There have been left-leaning shooters, too (Oswald, etc). But when bombmaking was en vogue in the US, it was usually the communists or anarchists bombing conservative institutions.

Then there was Kaczynski, who of all things, was a Luddite.

There are very few Muslims in Aurora. It was referred to as Saudi Aurora back in the 80's due to the lack of trees. An aggressive tree planting program has resolved that issue and I haven't heard "Saudi Aurora" in many years.

We don't call it Saudi Aurora because there might be some Muslims living there.  That term predates the WoT by a lot of years.

You do realize that farmers have been making and using home-made "bombs" out of fertilizer to destroy stumps and boulders in their fields for years and years right?

Oh, you didn't?

This is my shocked face :|
