Yes, much better than "DarkSoulNoHope" did.

This text is now purple: But when bombmaking was en vogue in the US, it was usually the communists or anarchists bombing conservative institutions.

That's a common misconception. Actually the Klan, the Dixie Mafia and the Posse Comitatus/Christian Identity were quite well versed in bomb-making and far more active as groups. A few leftists grabbing headlines because of the Weathermen does not a trend make.

I find it disturbing that our govt wants us to afraid of brown people and all I see on the news are crazy white folk.

headncloudz: I live in Colorado. Aurora is our Florida. Keepin' it classy.

yeah, what the hell is it with aurora? it isn't really all that much different from the rest of the denver metro, yet its so chock full of this kind of insanity it makes the head spin. i have known several people from there, all of which were either into just this sort of thing and/or would not surprise anyone should they appear on the evening news.

what exactly leads to a hive of middle class white people getting into playing with sawing off shotguns, booby-trapping their yards, and making pipe bombs and homemade silencers?
its like the whole place has a 24/7 live feed of fox news wired directly into their brains.

Teresaol31: Having lived in Aurora for about 12 years before I finally escaped, I can honestly say that the rash of crazy psychos in the city lately come as no surprise to me.  Also, I find it interesting that they are coming from the "good" and rehabilitated neighborhoods (like Fitz and over near the AFB) rather than "in the hood" like along Mississippi and Havana where all of the scary Muslims that led to the town being called "Saudi Aurora" by the stuck up folks along the Front Range call it.

As a stuck up Capital Hill/ Downtown resident I preferred to call Aurora Bun-Fahq-Egypt.

Also I am a bit surprised by the rash of psychos I thought most psychos in Colorado would come from the overly repressed mega-church crowds in Littleton/highlands Ranch/Colorado Springs areas.

as a refugee of highlands ranch, i can tell you they are there. they are just as nuts, only generally with far better impulse control. they don't have to make pipe bombs on the kitchen table, they can afford to construct custom hidden rooms to house their collections of weaponry, things like vietnam era mortars and classic vintage colt m16's in glass cases on display along with their 1st edition copies of the 'turner diaries' and the 'left behind' series.

/still nuts, just far more discerning in their nuttiness.

There is something spectacularly wrong on the Front Range.

And it used to be such a wonderful State.

i don't know. last time i went to a shooting range there i learned all sorts of useful things. i had no idea standard ford truck oil filters made such effective silencers.

/ also learned jews were forcing the girl scouts to teach girls to be lesbians, obama was part of hezbollah, and road signs had markings on the back to help u.n. one world government troops to navigate when they come to occupy us under 'agenda 21', but i wouldn't exactly call any of that 'useful' information.
// the oil filter trick was neat though.

Well, when you build neighborhoods that close to the Rocky Mountain Arsenal and on old Army land, you have to expect some exciting things to be hanging out in the soil...

I was thinking more along the lines of the Galleanist bombings of 1919-1920, although the Weathermen certainly qualify. The Klan exists at that odd border of being ultra-conservative but also a democratic organization for much of its history.

For all the wonder about the Christian Right, the makeup of the Democratic party pre-Wallace makes even less sense. I have no idea what northeastern Protestant busybodies, New York Jews, and southern white supremacists saw in each other.

I was just going with the "no neck" joke. Felt it was better with a Clive Anderson reference.

This text is now purple: spiderpaz: But if bombs are illegal to make only bad people will have the bombs.  What about bombs for the rest of us?

NRA?  anyone?

Unlikely. Making bombs has traditionally been the hobby of left-leaning activists. The NRA leans right.

Hey, be sure to turn it into a political argument. You asshat.

This guy could lean right and left at the same time. And has tried on more than one occasion, it would seem.

Aurora isn't Front Range, it's western Kansas.

I used to know a guy who lived in Aurora Colorado. I was emotionally supporting him (I wasn't giving the psychopath any cash) as he was preparing to move to Realto or whatever the hell he was heading too live with his parents because he lost his job at Taco Bell. All the time he was crying "I DON'T WANNA MOVE TO CALIFORNIA, I WANNA STAY HERE THIS IS PRETTY I GOT SNOW ON MY BIRTHDAY!"
But I had to remind him each time. You can't live there without a job your parents have a home for you you need to quit crying over Aurora and move forward. He was a major vegan asshole who complained about everything and still does to this day when I see him in some forums.

I suggest we drop the charge of questioning wizardry, as there seems to be insufficient evidence.
