Citrate1007: People on welfare tend to make poor financial decisions.....shocking!

The poor probably don't make that many more bad financial decisions, they just don't have the ability to recover from them as easily. If I blow $500 doing something that won't benefit me it may set me back for a week, maybe two. If a poor(er) person does it, it can be the straw that breaks the camel's back.

George W. Bush has lost more of other people's money than many people will ever make in a lifetime.

One, that horse is dressed like a hobbit. Two, what's the matter with horse people? On the scale of people who like their animals way too much, there are crazy cat ladies on one end, and way, way, way down in the deep end are horse people. If I walked into a room and there was a group of furries on one side - in full costume - and horse people on the other, I'd think long and hard about walking to the furry side before I immediately turned around and left the room.

it should, yes. You want your privacy back? Well, find a way off the system. Thats called 'motivaiton'.

What the government funds it can regulate.

Want that highway money, states?  Mandate speed limits and seat belt use as per our requirements.

As for this chick.  She wastes money on this when she could be wasting money on that.

So what?

OMG what a freeloader with bad money management skills! Now, where were those articles about bank bailouts and fortune 500 companies not paying taxes. I have to protect those job creators from the stupid unwashed masses that only want to ruin them.

What about ferret people?

My friend has a tube rat, and when she gets going on about them she rambles incoherently like she is in a trance. It's unnerving. I believe she would take a bullet for the damn thing

Unlike most carpet-sharks, Ted there actually has a job.  Considering winter lasts 6 months here, shrews and/or field mice try to come into the garage to live.  But once a ferret has crawled through an area and put down their predator scent, a rodent won't go anywhere near the place, even if it means they freeze to death.  Ted there has kept my garage mouse-free for 6 years now.

But...but...but, the liberals don't understand WHYYYY the rich keep getting richer!!!

You're answer makes too much sense so they'll ignore it.

Woman in the article is Obama's wet dream.

In fact, poor communities have their own, almost entirely off-the-books economies and people learn very quickly to make smart, shrewd decisions to survive.  If we were suddenly thrown into that world, we would flounder (unless of course you're some Randian superman who was born with supersmarts and would always rise to the very top because you're so very very clever).  Drug fiends and alcoholics don't make very good decisions, but that's true whether you're filthy rich (*cough* Texas Rangers *cough*) or very poor.  Assuming that poor=stupid and rich=smart is pretty facile.

It's easy to believe troll headlines from the likes of the Telegraph and assume that everyone who has ever received a nickel of money is nothing but a lazy, sleazy scammer stealing your money.  Now please tell me how the media leads sheeple to believe whatever they want.

One other thing, I hadn't heard that Obama was pushing to give horses to poor families.  Do you have any citations on that?

My daughter wants a horse. I make decent money, but we live in town so no space. I still don't know how I'd pay for it. Every time it comes up we watch that Simpsons episode where Lisa gets a pony because Homer's trying to buy her love and has to take a second job at the Kwik-E-Mart so he'll fall behind more slowly. Hilarious, on point, and 9-year-old-grokkable. Thanks, Simpsons!
