While I realize she has a history of drug abuse, I can't help but think she also suffered from some severe emotional problem, such as bipolar disorder that was not being successfully treated...not that this is surprising considering it's Arkansas where you can get a script pretty easily, but finding an actual, legitimate psychologist that can and will do more than just throw pills at a mental illness is damn near impossible.  It's too bad that rather than releasing her from the final rehab stay that she wasn't sent to the state mental facility in Little Rock for some observation and therapy.

farm machine: Probably just perfecting her aim.  It's a tough decision to take your own life and that tends to cause one to shake a bit.  Seems she was a trooper though and got through it with flying colors.  Good for her.

She had to fire it at least once - she didn't want the noise to startle her and ruin her aim - and why waste a good round?

grinding_journalist: spentmiles: She probably didn't want the half starved dog eating her farking brains when the cops showed up.
My first thought.
My second thought was "not sure if trolling" since that's my natural reaction to your posts.

He's trolling.  spentmiles knows that dogs always go for the eyes and the asshole first.  He actually studies these things.

FirstNationalBastard: Those kids of hers better feel lucky the state had custody of them, otherwise the crazy biatch probably would have taken a page from this man's book of good parenting...

I'm thinking that having them taken away is what set her off to begin with. Could be wrong, however.

Nor do I think her kids are feeling lucky at the moment, but whatever.

Hmm, left alone, or getting shot?

No sympathy for bad parents.  She's rich, she could have gotten more help.

Bit'O'Gristle: Didn't wanna leave the dog alone huh? Bullshiat. I had to shoot one of my dogs, and it was the hardest thing i have ever had to do. I think it was more "her spirit will be with me" than she didnt want the dog to be alone, as SOMEONE would have taken it. Thank god her kids werent there, she would have offed them too.

Hard for you maybe.  Like Mindy, I grew up on a farm where death, probably more so than life, was part of the daily routine.  Some animal was either too sick to go on, or more often, we had too many already.  I remember standing behind the barn cat with a hammer as she gave birth.  Then one of our mules got tangled up in some barbed wire and all I had was a cattle prod.  It took forever and stunk like all get out.  For my birthday one year, all of our chickens came down with some sort of avian flu.  My back hurt from lugging around the weed whacker all day.  Was it fun?  At first.  But then it was just work.  That's farm living, I suppose.

I've never been happier than the day after my folks passed away in their sleep and I was free from that griding existence.  I herded all the horses and goats and pigs and everything else into the huge aluminum equipment barn and chained the doors.  They said you could see the smoke and hear the animals all the way in town.  I guess you get a little callous living around animals like that, but somebody's got to do it.

Walker: We're lucky she didn't shoot the kids with that kind of logic.

"She didn't want to leave the dog alone"
Because there's no one else on Earth who could have taken the dog. Right.

Probably just watched what happened to Seymour.

quatchi: "This was at least her third attempt [at suicide]," said the insider. "She is finally at peace."

Third times the charm?

"Mindy really loved her dog and that would not have been an act of malice at all," the pal insisted. "It would have been more of a case where she just didn't want to leave the dog alone."

She probably thought she and the dog would get into heaven together like some Earl Hamner Jr. written episode of Twilight Zone.

Lawls. I snickered.

Really? I am the first one to reference this?

Mary Provost did not look her best
The day the cops bust into her loneiy nest
In the cheap hotel up
on Hollywood West July 29
She'd been lyin' there
for two or three weeks
The neighbors said
they never heard a squeak
For hungry eyes that couid not speak
Said even little doggie's have got to eat

She was winner
The became the doggie's dinner
She never meant that much to me
(But now I see) Oh poor Mary

I thought it had something to do with the dog being the one that alerted her to the suicide of her boyfriend.

I wonder if her kids are torn between the fact that she apparently loved the dog enough to want to take it with her but not her kids, and the fact that if she'd been just a tiny more imbalanced and/or loving, they might be dead right now.

I'm kind of curious about this part. Seems like someone there might have dropped a ball.

All Fox products are beneath me, so of course I didn't RTFA, but I can use some quick logic theory to interpolate.

Some news media is difficult to believe.
Some news media is extremely biased.
Fox is a media outlet.

Therefore, it is difficult to believe that some Fox media is not extremely biased.

Some neocon redneck shot her dog. To me this should be a capital offense.
I think we should dig her up, kill her again, and toss her rotting carcass into the Carnival Triumph bilge.

Then we shoot holes in the hull and let it sink. Then it will biodegrade and eventually become a reef for unicellular organisms in the Gulf of Mexico. It may take 70 or so years, but hey, it's not easy to get much value from a stupid whitebread cracker southern country redneck b*tch like that.
