This happened in the Nanny State. Within a year all golfers and associated personnel will be required to wear helmets with plexiglass facemasks on the course. And say goodbye to the beer-cart.

If only he had been reminded 8 times that there's an assumption of risk.

I thought "below par" was what you want.

Why would someone that has been hit by a ball 8 times be in a "ball spotting" position to begin with?

It's likely the opposite.  He was probably hit so many times BECAUSE he works as a "ball spotter" or a forecaddy.  Part of the job would require you to hang around areas where golf balls typically land so you can help the golfers find them quickly.

In this case, ironically, the guy was injured while not paying attention to the golfers on the holes around him because he was chasing off spectators who were in a dangerous area.

A very large percentage of politicians play golf and have expensive haircuts, so no.

Sounds like bad training, he misunderstood "keep your eye on the ball".

When he told his parents that he was going to be a ball spotter, they said "You'll put your eye out".

This is why he didn't play as a pro, he didn't have a good eye for the game.

Now he can get a crazy wood eye and teach some young guy with a weird tennis style golf swing how to putt.  Then Adam Sandler will do a movie about it.

He still has one eye left, so he should've finished the round.

If he knew his job was to be hit, then he should've stood on the green.  Totally unprofessional.

You knew these jokes were coming, but you didn't get out of the way.

Let me get this straight.  This guy gets in the way of the ball, and probably takes a good 20 yards off the shot's distance, and HE'S the one doing the suing?

Hey, he REALLY likes balls, ok?
