Uh, methinks this could be unconsitutional. Or the top of a very slippery slope.

2013-02-19 08:47:07 AM
just pass a law that makes it felony to be a house member in Missouri and save all the hastle

Keep it up, America. The rest of the world thanks you for the endless supply of comedy.

Just keep your guns and tiny penises to yourselves, okay?

God I hate Missouri.

Dumbass?

People like you don't deserve to live in this country submitter.

2013-02-19 08:48:13 AM
Yeah, that'd be unconstitutional.  Stupid idea.  I'm very much against any further infringements on my gun rights, but trying to "break" the Legislature in pursuit of that goal is asinine.

Legislation can't be used to bind the hands of other legislators.

*blink*  So you only want to see large American penises?  Okay....  Well, it's good to have preferences, I suppose.

Can anyone remind me why allowing the South to secede was a bad thing?

It's a Lazer Beam: God I hate Missouri.

Meh.  Look to Thine own legislature and I suspect you'll find proposed legislation at least as bad, and just as quickly squashed.

State legislatures are comprised of folks who were 20 votes away from going back to their jobs as assistant to the manager of a failing mid-sized paper company.

The wacky shiat they come up with is always good for lulz.

I think it breaks the first Amendment. So, yeah, it's never going to pass. Hey, but someone has to fill the the always on internet news cycle. I bet this makes it all the way up to tonight's 6:30 news.

As long as there is no gay stuff. Amirite?

Err, I should add: expand this bill to block any proposed legislation that restricts ANY constitutional rights, and you've got a deal.

Gun nuts are becoming more insane than wacked out religous fanatics. I never really had an opinion on the matter before, but seeing the reactions from people is getting downright scary. Even close friends of mine who own firearms are talking like lunatics at the very idea of some sort of gun control reform.

As am I.  But, as I said,  further infringements would be (even more) unreasonable.  The B.S. proposal in Missouri to ban just about all semi-automatic firearms was worth an eye-roll.  Trying to outlaw standard-capacity magazines under the guise of protecting children (which is pandering of the worst sort) is short-sighted and dumb.

Colorado just tried this as well until Magpul threatened to pull up shop and move to another state. They've since rethought their plan.

So, from your point of reason and sanity...common-sense, in fact...you see no reason whatsoever to doubt the validity and effectiveness of the proposed gun control legislation?

1) Missouri stayed with the union.

2) When liberals get mad, they threaten to move to Canada. When conservatives get mad, they threaten  treason. We need to disabuse conservatives of their raging sense of self-entitlement. It's our god damn country. Not the far right's. If they don't like the way show is being run, they should leave.

3) And should the neo-Confederate scum Republican base make any measurable move toward treason, we should clone this guy, and send him down to finish the job he started so long ago:

Since this has been voted on exactly zero times in the General Legislature, I'm going to withhold my wholesale condemnation of them just yet.  Your bar for condemnation is pretty low, I'd say.  But yes, this one Legislator is an idiot.

Oh yeah, New York State is so immune to stupid proposals (Mediaite.com):

In today's edition of First Amendment FAIL: Wired reports that New York state proposed legislation would require New York-based websites (like this one!) to "remove any comments posted on his or her website by an anonymous poster unless such anonymous poster agrees to attach his or her name to the post."

Imagine the uproar if the Government decided to ban all printers that print more than one page every 5 minutes.  Add to that the general consensus amongst certain far-left groups that they need to eradicate the "Gun Culture".  Whenever people start advocating the elimination of ANY culture, there's a BIG problem.  I sure as Hell wouldn't want to be a cop where I live if the Feds passed some of the insane ideas for gun control that some Liberals have floated.

Their House just got votes they need to move forward. Which part did they rethink? Because the size reductions are still in.

I am liberal and I do not agree with further gun restrictions.

If you want total security, go to prison. There you're fed, clothed, given medical care and so on. The only thing lacking... is freedom.

-IKE

Do not allow to slip away from you the freedoms the people who came before you won.

In 1942, there were 110,000 Japanese American citizens in good standing, law-abiding people who were thrown into internment camps simply because their parents were born in the wrong country. That's all they did wrong. They had no right to a lawyer, no right to a fair trial, no right to a jury of their peers no right to due process of any kind. The only right they had: "Right this way" into the internment camps! Just when these American citizens needed their rights the most, their government took them away! And rights aren't rights if someone can take them away. They're privileges. That's all we've ever had in this country, is a bill of temporary privileges. And if you read the news even badly, you know that every year the list gets shorter and shorter.

I'm glad that a few other states are at least  trying to out-stupid Arizona.  We here have managed set the bar fairly high (or is it low?).
