Probably because it's full of religious fundamentalists who are determined to destroy the American government. You know, terrorists.

We don't hate America, just all these hippie, atheist, islamic, immigrant, communist foreigners coming here thinking they can be president with just a fake birth certificate then trying to take away our guns to protect ourselves from Xenu when she returns.   We need to be willing to spill a little of Uncle Sam's blood for the continued glory of Ayn Rand Mericuh.

Obama to apply fresh pressure on Republicans to avoid cuts

That would imply that Obama actually leads on something, unless by "pressure" he means using the media to gin up some new propaganda for him.

Aside from the retarded headline...

The house is the only body that tried dealinh woth the sequester last year. Obama and the Senate ignored ot. Obama even said he would veto legislation that undid it. The senate didnt want to deal with it in an election year. Same with Obama. They talk a good game of not waiting until a crisis but their actions say different. They had 2 years to deal with an alternate plan and didnt. Meanwhile the house actually passed two different bills that didnt even make it to senate committee instead staying on Reid's desk.

As for Benghazi I have never seen a flock of sheep so determined to excuse their leader for lying. It came out just last week that Obama basically ignored the situation he decoded a las vegas fundraiser was more important. He had a brief 5pm call previously scheduled and tols the DoD to deal with it and didnt check back the rest of the night. Fundraising was more important. This is the complete opposite of what Obama claimed he did in his speech where he claimed he told them to do everuthing possible. Obama lied to you farktards but you dont care. Sad.

Because they want it to be an issue years from now. If they make a huge deal about a scandal, years later people will remember Benghazi and recall how Fox News made a huge focus on it. People wont remember the exact details but then decide that if a major news channel was worked up so much over it, there must have been a serious issue and will be more likely believe what Fox says.

Fox isnt making it an issue to affect people now; they are doing it to sway people later on, maybe by the next election.

There has been 30% growth in government spending since 2009. Inflatiin was 10% growing governmentat 3x inflation is unsustainable . Sequestration would put that growth at 26% growth since 2009, 2.6 x inflation. It essentially is a decrease for the unsustainable growth.

I don't like how sequestration would cut the defense budget, because it's an across-the-board cut as opposed to just going after the bloat.  But how the hell are we ever going to fix it when, despite the President continually removing them from the budget, Congress keeps authorizing the construction of new M-1 Abrams tanks.  We have 2,000 of the damn things sitting idle in the desert for a war that's never going to come, and they want another 280 of the damn things.

Zombie Eisenhower needs to storm the Capitol.

This needs to be in ads for every single farking congresscritter running for reelection in 2014 that refused to work on this. They are economic terrorists and need to be shown as such. *This* is not what we need to have. We need better people, real people, people who don't just go around talking about how we need to cut EVERYTHING because....the president is a democrat/black/dude?

Everyone who is disgusted by this conduct needs to get involved. Challenge your congressmen at every turn. Call them on this shiat when reelection comes around. Help campaign for their opponent. Just because the districts were gerrymandered to hell, doesn't mean we can't fix the system. Those that think we can't refuse to try. We may be in an uphill, losing battle, but damnit, if we don't try and fix this shiat, then the terrorists win. Domestic, economic terrorists that call themselves our representatives.

We have one shot at this to enact real, lasting change. I don't care if we're challenging Democrats or Republicans, whoever votes against stopping stupid shiat cuts like this should not have the ability to dictate policy for this country. We are Fark. The 4chan for intellectuals. We have the power of the internet to change the world for the better. We can do this and we must, in a larger sense, do this. We must prove to these asshats that we have a voice, and we will not stand idly by while they rape our country, wrapped in the flag and proclaiming the tenets of capitalism and democracy.

As poigent as Eisenhower's warning on the way out, he really made this possible. He continued the military-industrial complex post WW2 and then had a change of heart at the end. Like LBJ being a pawn of the hardliners with Vietnam and then in the end of life regretted that the he gave up on the Great Society initiatives for Vietnam. Imagine if that worked. Imagine if we had gone with the Great Society instead of the Great South East Asian debacle? God, we could truly be a city on a hill for the world. Hell, even JFK realized not to trust the military when it came to foreign policy after the Bay of Pigs. If he had listened to them during 13 days in October 1962, we'd all be dead from nuclear war.

There definitely needs to be cuts... I don't think anyone doubts that.

However, I think, logically, the place to start is with the disgustingly bloated defense budgets instead of freaking out about the few hundred bucks a week some poor, unemployed bastard gets in aid or Grandma's heating assistance.

My opinion, of course... Good luck with the job. I've been self-employed since 2006, for the most part, so I can relate to not knowing how much income i can expect in the near future. It definitely effects how I spend the money I do have coming in.

Don't get me wrong, I fully endorse defense cuts, there's alot of shiat they don't even want but Congress insists on. If we got rid of those, we'd cut the defense budget the 15% that sequester demands without the across the board cuts it promises.

but logic doesn't work in Congress. Not when elections are on the line

I wish I could help, but it turns out my car is in the shop because it hit a pothole and busted the suspension. If only there weren't any potholes, but it turns out, that the highway dept. can't fix them because they don't have the funding. They don't have the funding because the department has already stopped funding in an effort to prepare for the sequester. Now I'm not saying that this is your fault. No no, all I'm saying is that there is a larger issue in our country that is on the horizon that affects more people and causes more harm to the country than whether there was an intelligence shortfall in reporting whether an attack on a goddamn state department building (not even a farking embassy, mind you) is a terrorist attack or a protest gone horribly awry.

There are real issues here. Now shut the fark up about the little shiat and work on trying to fix the larger issues like whether our government can even function past march 1st.
