Green light all the repeats!

bulldg4life: Green light all the repeats!

The first one was the puck behind the blue line, this one represents the player further up the ice.

I haven't seen a call that bad since the Tuck Rule game.

RumsfeldsReplacement: I haven't seen a call that bad since the Tuck Rule game.

The Tuck Rule game wasn't a bad call.  It was a correct call of a horrible rule.

Even worse, all the linesman is watching on this play is offside...and he butchered the call.

I figure the linesman had a brain fart trying to remember the rule for when the puck goes into the zone off a deflection from the defending player.

That's what I was thinking. I was trying to remember if it's offside if the defense carries it in, and I was thinking it's not.

Oh god....that's bad.  This might just be the worst reffed season I've ever seen.  What with the phantom head shots, the new B.S. interference rules on dump&chase, and just flat-out blown calls, these guys are not having a good year.  And of course, it's magnified because of the short season, but damn near every team has had at least one horribly blown call against them that's cost at least a goal, if not a game.

The way I read the NHL's offside rule (google it) is that it's only not offside if the play is in the offensive end and a defensive player plays it out of the zone, off another defender and it back into the zone. I don't see anything negative offside one deflected breakout passes.

I love the way Duchene slows down, knowing he was a mile offside, realizes there's no whistle and figures "might as well shoot"...

I've had a brain-fart in a similar situation (though it didn't lead to a goal) where the attacker was so far behind the D that I didn't signal offside figuring that the automatic part of my brain was thinking that that player was the D.

Gong show would be a good term to use for this season.  Yesterdays Sens/Devils game had some brilliant moments in the last minute, and I don't know WTF was going on during the Sens/Leafs game on HNIC.

I was at a Coyotes game a few years ago, the Oil were in town and the lowly 'Yotes were clinging to a 1 goal lead. With about a minute left the puck was turned over and quickly passed up to Ryan Smyth who hadn't even exited the offensive zone yet, he received the pass at least 6 feet inside the blue line, all alone on CuJo and scores to make it a tie game. It wasn't even close to being onside.

Naturally, it came down to a face off with 3 seconds left to the right of the Yotes net, Ricci lost the draw and Pronger ends up blasting a one-timer to win the game at the buzzer.

The arena exploded in joy because it was half-filled with visitors from Alberta.

I know McGeough wasn't the linesman but fark him anyway.

Every time I think NHL officiating has hit a new low, something like this happens.

Is what I'm hearing true and Marian Hossa has taken another head shot? Can anyone provide visual proof, please?

No visual proof, Hossa was elbowed to the back of the head by Hansen of the Canucks, he did not return. Of course this happened after scoring 2 goals. Hansen got only 2 minutes, hopefully a suspension to come later.

Yes the calls have been bad, many ghost calls and many missed calls this season. Hope the NHL is not turning into the NBA.

I just saw the ESPN highlights of the game. As Melrose pointed out, it was just about the same spot as the Torres hit. I'm going to predict that Hansen gets 2-3 games for that.

Speaking of dirty play, Down Goes Brown on the seven levels of dirty hockey. I'm actually having a hard time finding fault with anything he said.

Pissed when it happened.  I was hoping they were going to let Bolland go after him towards the end of the third but the Nucks scored on the pp with around 2 minutes remaining.

It should also be noted that the Nucks were called for diving, just for the lulz.
