Someone has to start treating bad reporters like Nick Cage in Weather Man.

If everyone who was an ass in media got milkshakes hucked at them constantly, they'd learn to clean up their act. You can only afford to sue so many people. Eventually the onus of getting milkshaked is on you. If everyone's doing it, it's basically protected free speech.

Is this about the Newtown thing?  they said they found out why he did it.  He wanted to beat the high score set by the guy in Norway.  He picked the school because he indicated he should be able to get a very high body count in a short amount of time.

Failure at life and failure at achieving his goal.  the Norwegian guy had 70+.  Failure...

I could top the Norway guy, easy. It'd be legal, too.

Just open a restaurant to rival the Heart Attack Cafe in nutritional lack of value.

Don`t name the killer. Don`t have 24 hr coverage interspersed with the killers name. Don`t focus on the bodycount. Don`t portray the personal aftermath. Don`t show the killers face. Don`t show video of the killings. Don`t make the killer into a loner antihero in a hoodie getting national fame.

Are you hearing the words coming out of my mouth?

/actually it`s good you can only see the words I type instead of hearing the words coming out of my mouth but you know what I mean.

Maybe he can come back as a ghost pretending to be the grim reaper and help his girlfriend increase the "score".

So the liberal media has promoted gun violence in order to take away everyone's guns?

The libsocialist gun-grabbing, scared-of-guns-pussies, job-killing, terrorist-coddling conspiracy has struck again!

2013-02-19 08:19:48 AM
But we still tell everyone exactly what kind of gun a shooter uses so we can politicize the shooting and ban more gun stuff, right?

No, call him that shiathead farkwad twat from somewhere finally left his farking cheetos and video games and photoshop his face so it looks even stupider than he really does.

Then mention that the autopsy report said that his penis was so tiny they thought he was biologically a female at first.

Shhh..  It's still too early to talk about gun control.   Wait for this to be a statistic in 2014.  Then if anyone cares about some ancient statistic they are clinging to ancient history, why don't we talk about Bengazi instead?

They also found evidence that Lanza had zeroed in on Sandy Hook Elementary School because he felt it was the "easiest target" with the "largest cluster of people."

If only there was a way to describe these zones where clusters of easy targets can be found.

Yep. Of course. If even only one child is saved*, it's worth it

*Some restrictions may apply. offer not valid in drone strikes conducted in countries where no war has been declared.  See your local Politician for details.

"easiest targets" = won't fight back

Solution: make sure even more people can't fight back.

sorry, i don't agree. all too often people parrot that bit about celebrity gossip or whatever is being broadcast is giving people what they want. the news as it's presented in America is not news as it's presented around the world. we are fed a steady stream of sub-par news reporting depending on the venue one chooses. it is what we are fed, not what we ask to have put on our plate. just like politicians on the campaign trail talking out the sides of their mouths, we all know they are full of shiat, they were full of shiat in our father's day, and before him in our grand-father's time. we'd rather have a straight talking honest candidate but such a thing does not exist, so you take what you get.

what passes for news content in America usually seems to be the most depressing and horrific stories they can find punctuated with interviews of the stupidest man on the street types. it's pathetic. but they always seem to do a swell job giving all the sports scores and highlights. go figure.

Dammit, so I annoyed I forgot why I came in here.

Anyway, where are we in the 'featured partners who get comment-free ads placed directly in the middle of the actual content' cycle?  Is there a book we can read on that?

No.

There was a time in this country when the media would occasionally censor itself for the good of the nation. What is being advocated is that the media, and everyone actually, voluntarily sensor themselves. It sucks to say "put your head in the sand", but doing so will literally save a couple dozen lives per year.... The other honest option is to accept the loss of those lives, accept your culpability in those losses, and quite blaming the guns for the actions undertaken by people. But instead all we end up with is a bunch of people glorifying murders, encouraging more murders, and placing the blame on an inanimate object, while failing to acknowledge in almost any way their own responsibility for the issue.
