Baby bump and hubby are both things that should earn their speaker an instant slap on the face.

Gladly.  Both sound like something that 6-year-olds playing house would call one another.

While grocery shopping with the boyfriend a few days ago, I announced that we needed to stock up on post-Valentine's chocolate, as we were going to be starting our period soon.  He was not amused.

I let 'we are pregnant' pass just because its buy in from the guy, and commitment to raising the parasite that isn't directly growing in him. It also usually implies or is said with enthusiasm and affection for the child, which is great for the kid.

Now, I think that's really funny as hell!  He should love the fact that he has a lady with a sense of humor. WTF is wrong with him?

Yeah, I have to give the guy points for making a real effort during that part of the baby-making, it just makes me laugh when he's excited and she looks worn out and about to murder him.

...because that's not funny, it's emasculating. There's no 'buy in' for menstration. You're subsuming the guy there, because 'we' do not get a period, and it isn't a life changing issue like child bearing.

But ... I'm still laughing over here!  I just think her comment is hysterical. Maybe it's because I'm female, too, and my own monthly horror show is scheduled to begin really soon.
