You mean Penn State students don't just drink beer, masturbate to their football coach, and turn a blind eye to illegal actions taken in the name of the football program like they do in the SEC?

The Paternos need to go away.

You can't mention them without thinking of scandal.

How so?  Use specifics.  Because of a HuffPo article?  What does the family have to do with anything?  Are you just upset that this is no longer in the news?  Would you like us to find you some witches and some bodies of water for a floating test?

When the family decides they can stop commenting on the Freeh report as they like to do every six months or so.

If Komen can be vilified as the next worth thing after nazis spreading the plague in an orphanage simply for even thinking about not funding Planned Parenthood then I'm going to have to just chuckle if some people don't like the fact that somebody got upset over this Jay Paterno thing.

Because hey, it shouldn't matter how benevolent or beneficial or tirelessly helpful you are to an important issue. You're scum of the earth no matter what nice thing you're doing because of some inconsequential nonsense that borders on religious zealotry.

How do they need to go away? Airplane, boat or car.

Use specifics? They aren't helping the school because the mere mention of the name Paterno brings to mind a nasty scandal.

Because of a HuffPo article? No. Because a guy got caught farking kids in the ass.

What does the family have to do with anything? They just released a report trying to clear the Paterno name and it really did the opposite.

Am I upset that it's no longer in the news? No, I'm upset that it is still very much in the news.

Would I like you to find me some witches? No thanks. Paterno, Sandusky, etc. are more than enough.

I danced in THON several years ago. It really is one of my most memorable college experiences. You're treated like a rock star the whole weekend. I met several MTV real world cast members who were there, yes I also met joe pa. There's an endless stream of emotional speeches from THON families, special guests, bands, videos, etc. by the end of day two it starts getting bad; the line for the bathroom is half an hour long because its about the only time you're allowed to sit down (they have people stationed outside the stalls who start pounding on the door after a few minutes because people fall asleep on the toilet). I was completely exausted and had numbness in my toes for months but im glad i did it. It really is what penn state is all about. Another thing worth pointing out is that THON is run entirely by penn state students.

Wow; biblical even

You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me

/ the entire thing is just re-goddam diculous; the kid didn't do anything; the father shoulda reported to the police, but, talked to the university first. This is not the first university to do exactly this. They are the first to get caught at it.

Kurmudgeon: Joe Paterno's son did nothing. So harassing him, especially when he's trying to help children with cancer, is idiotic.

Except, of course, demanding an appeal for NCAA sanctions against Penn State. Oh, and funding an independent "report" to contradict the Freeh report. And there are all those press releases and nasty little quips. Basically, Joe Paterno's family - including the son, you understand - dissembled about and denied anything that cast Joe Paterno in a bad light, throwing money, threats, and FUD at Joe Paterno's "legacy" to somehow protect it from the taint of, well, Joe Paterno's legacy.

So, when Joe Paterno's son exploits a good cause to once again get up in front of Penn State alumni, it's offensive. The family didn't commit the crime - that's Jerry Sandusky - nor did they cover it up - that's Joe Paterno - but they have spent a huge amount of time, money, and resources trying to cast doubt and push blame away from Paterno's failure, because that "legacy" is their meal ticket. There's a blot on Penn State's reputation, and they're busily trying to pull Joe Paterno's statue over the stain.

Not sure if serious.  If serious, was Joe's family involved in pedophilia or the cover-up of pedophilia?

And you would too.  It's called being a family member. It's one thing if Joe was accused of being a pedophile himself, but there are lots of murkier aspects to this story.  I don't blame them for supporting their father. You'd do it too and to say otherwise is a bald face lie.

//that being said, I agree to Joe getting fired and some if not all of his legacy being tarnished.

The hell I would. I don't care if they're my father, you play cover up for a pedophile and I'm never speaking to you again, let alone embarrass myself on national TV trying to make excuses.

You don't get to make excuses for horrible people, even if you're related to them.

I have several family members on both sides of my family that have sexually abused children.

I moved to another state to get away from those people.  I have no contact with them.
Like hell I'd ever defend them.
Burn 'em at the stake for I care.  I'll even provide the matches.
