Possible troll-like typing detected... but whatever...

Was he legally allowed to own/carry/conceal a firearm? Possibly.
Was he legally allowed to do it in an airport? Nope
The 'governmemt' is going to confiscate my car too, if I attempt to drive it into an airport, but where are the car-nuts going crazy over that?!

Wake up SHEEPLE!

I'm more upset that in the end, he wont do any jail time.  You try the same move and see what happens.  (if by now, you don't understand the implications of carrying a weapon into an airport, maybe you've a touch of brain damage from being hit in the head to often.....damn it, I just gave him a defensive strategy)

If the gun was registered to him in New York he won't get any jail time, probably just a huge fine, probation and the gun taken away. However if he wasn't legally permitted to own it in New York, he is going to be made an example.

And by the way, if he was legally permitted to have the gun, it should be taken away for this.

Bill Burr has a sad.

While the argument will be made that ingorance of the law is no excuse for violation of the law, he's coming from a state that does not have any kind of requirement to register.  But putting a gun and magazine filled with bullets in your carry on is pretty farking stupid.  Is it that hard to do an internet search for TSA rules on transporting weapons?

He had a gun in an airport, which is ..... let me think.... illegal? And everyone knows it. But carry on with your paranoid delusions.

Now about those Buccaneers.... what a bunch of criminals, amirite?

From the story I read, he was checking the bag with the gun and declared it to at the counter.  They said the gun was loaded, but there is a difference if there was a round in the chamber or just rounds in the magazine.  If there was not a bullet in the chamber, there was no danger to anyone.

Should have been in the proper type case and not loaded, but otherwise people take guns to airports all the time.  I totally disagree with anyone who says he should get the 3 1/2 years in prison for this.  You don't get 3 1/2 for DIU, which is just as dangerous as what he did.

It's pretty clear what the rule is and he violated it by not having it in the correct case that TSA has as a standard and unfortunately if it isn't then the situation is handed over to local police.  If he had it in the correct kind hard sided locking case, then the TSA would not have involved local cops and he would not have been hit with felony possession.  If he did have it in the proper case and the TSA still got the cops involved, then I think this would be a completely different scenario.

I'm not sure what Bloomberg's attitude would be if he had the gun in a TSA approved case declared it at the counter.
