I like animals as much as anyone else, but PETA needs to be added to the list of terrorist organizations.

2003-12-17 09:43:39 AM
Also, it's ironic that People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals have no ethics when it comes to the treatment of other people.

2003-12-17 09:59:25 AM
If I see that, I'm going to beat them about the head with a rump roast.

2003-12-17 10:09:26 AM
The funny thing is, these people are total farking pussies. They have no problem assaulting little kids going to the theater with their mommies, but we never see them out here giving the local cattle ranchers shiat about raising beef cattle.

Come on out if you have a pair!

2003-12-17 10:10:13 AM
I love PETA - Without them the world would be so much more boring.

Dennis Miller said it best:

Now it's the '90s. We've gone from the Red Cross handing out coffee at floods to Ricki Lake and the freak patrol blitzing Karl Lagerfeld's office and chaining themselves to the Poland Spring dispenser. When did minks become more important than people? I've watched individuals in New York City step over fellow human beings laying in their own piss to spit on somebody who's wearing chinchilla. And now they pretend to spit on you if you wear fake fur.

How far are we going to go with this bullshiat, kids? Now the mink is everybody's precious cause celebre. The Jack Henry Abbot of forest creatures. How hard could a mink's life be? He's wearing farking mink! Trust me, if the roles were reversed, he'd be wearing your pelt, okay? ] So when you hit your knees tonight, thank your walking, upright god it played out the way it did.

2003-12-17 10:29:25 AM
If my kid got one of those, I'd be in jail for murder..because I'd have to seriously kill the jackass who handed a flyer like that to my kid.

2003-12-17 10:30:09 AM
They aren't animal lovers. They are Humanity Haters. They hate themselves so much that it carries over to the rest of us, and the only way they can validate theirselves is to choose to be 'animal lovers'. Bullshiat.

And Darkrose is right. If someone gave one of those flyers to my grandkids, I would have them arrested right on the spot for child abuse. Let them get out of that one.

2003-12-17 10:34:25 AM
Yeah Darkrose, I definitely had the "Urge to kill rising" moment there myself

Targeting children w/ these violent images is pretty chickenshiat if you ask me. Why don't they target some of those burly French Canadian and Russian trappers?

I'll bet dollars to donuts that the majority of these PETA folks have a big issue with their own children being exposed to violent video games and those graphic anti-abortion photos.

2003-12-17 10:41:58 AM
I'd target my foot to their nuts.

2003-12-17 11:12:11 AM
i was xmas shopping with my gf, we went into a fairly upscale store, neiman marcus, saw some furs, most expensive one was $75k, i asked the guy...''i've heard that some folks buy these and return them...''

'yes' he says 'we have a return policy for everything'

''so if i buy this coat for $75k you cant say whether or not its used?''

''well, we send them to dallas, and they get looked over...''

PETA really needs to get their priorities straight. They have a good cause, but nobody's going to listen simnply because they behave like a bunch of ovezealous and over righteous morons.
For example,
Instead of handing out pamplets to little kids, why don't they buy airtime and make a commercial showing the process that goes into making the fur coats. You know, like show the killing of the animals as graphically as allowed along with some facts. That would at least drum up a little sympathy for the animals as opposed to drumming up hatred for the organization trying to protect them.

2003-12-17 11:36:39 AM
Everybody from this post on up has said basically the same thing. No PETA members want to a crack at defending this lunacy? If you're a dues-paying, card carrying PETA member, you now support traumatizing children. In fact, you HATE children.
That's the same argument PETA makes when they confront little kids and say "your mommy kills animals."

By the way, how can they tell which mommies are wearing real fur and which are wearing fake fur?
"Who cares...just read this flyer, kid!!!!"

Protect animals at all cost...even at the expense of innocent children. That's PETA.

Enough of your fur/meat jihad!!!

Spot-on. Bravo. I love animals, but I'd never give a plugged nickel to an organization like PETA because this type of hype makes me want to kick each an every one of them in the shins. I believe in their overall cause, but their tactics on crap like this makes me join the haters.

2003-12-17 12:22:15 PM
Add me to the list. I swear to God I'd pull out my Glock and kneecap anyone handing one of those pamphlets to my kids. And I don't even have kids or a Glock.

2003-12-17 12:22:38 PM

If your kid got one, you're wearing fur.
Shame on you.

Other than that, I think PETA is a bunch of jackasses who are little better than terrorists. They give a bad name to the rest of us who aren't lunatics (last I checked, anyway) who think animals (and humans) deserve humane treatment.

2003-12-17 12:45:16 PM
Look, I dislike PETA like all rational people but don't let your image of PETA destroy the issues PETA thinks are confronting. Animal cruelty is an issue that does deserve to be addressed. Just don't judge a whole issue based on some of its spokesmen (PETA). That is like judging Christians based on Pat Robertson or Jerry Falwell.

2003-12-17 12:47:35 PM
The problem w/ PETA is that they have a lack of central leadership (or a weak one), they allow overzealous splinter groups to terrorize Americans in their name. They are similar in this regard to Earth First and Critical Mass. Because of their lack of control over their organization, they allow it to become a laughing stock and reduce any credibility it may have.

I believe this lack of central organization is to protect the main organization from blame and prosecution, it's working against them.

2003-12-17 01:34:31 PM
I'm a vegetrarian, and I would NEVER join PETA. They're a bunch of histrionic whack jobs.

"Children can't look up to a mom in a battered-raccoon hat"

1st thought) A raccoon with two black eyes.

2nd thought)

``Maybe when they're confronted by their own children's hurt looks, fur-wearers' cold hearts will melt.''

Yeah, right, that will work. Do they just find ways to sound as stupid as possible? Or just hire ex-managment from Enron?

2003-12-17 01:37:51 PM
I could spend the rest of the month stomping on baby animals and still be less morally reprehensible than PETA

People Eating Tasty Animals

2003-12-17 01:38:37 PM
My kids (aged 6, 8, 10 and 12) would seriously laugh at that flyer. They know damn well it's Daddy, not Mommy that kills the animals in this household.

SuperCMC's got a point, though. PETA does a disservice to its own cause, as do most zealots.

2003-12-17 01:38:48 PM
I stopped reading after the author mentioned this was on the PETA signs:

"The fliers urge kids to ``ask your mommy how many dead animals she killed to make her fur clothes. "

Once something is dead, you can't kill it again to use it for clothing. Either the author misprinted it, or PETA is retarted.

2003-12-17 01:39:21 PM
PETA has nothing on me - I hand out fliers that say, "Your Mommy is a Whore" to random children.

2003-12-17 01:39:41 PM
Santa, I would like PETA skin rug

2003-12-17 01:40:09 PM
I've taught my six year old to reply to "Animals died for that hat" (rabbit fur... and she has a pet rabbit too)with...

"There weren't supposed to be any witnesses. Now I'll have to kill you too"

... doesn't PETA stand for People Eating Tasty Animals?

2003-12-17 01:40:19 PM
Santa, I would like PETA skin rug or a PETA skin coat!

2003-12-17 01:41:33 PM
Dear President Bush and Elliot Spitzer,

Could you please revoke PETAs' non profit status. They are asshats and I think I speak on behalf of most of the non profit community - they are giving us a bad name, please get rid of them.

Thank You,

Arched.

2003-12-17 01:41:51 PM
Can't we all just fire up the BBQ, throw on a couple of PETA members, and have ourselves a good time?

Dude, these people are vegan. They believe in humans existing without causing pain to animals (which is possible, hell, even econonimcal...) Plus, fark fur-wearing biatches.

2003-12-17 01:42:20 PM
Ok, that's it: PETA is going on my list for idiot organizations that need to be obliterated.

2003-12-17 01:42:28 PM
PETA sucks. But wearing a fur coat means you're a pretentious piece of shiz who needs everyone to know that they can afford a fur coat. Their kids should know that their mommy is a vain biatch.

2003-12-17 01:42:42 PM
How about handing leaflets to children of PETA members saying.

"Your Mommy is an idiot. oh yeah- and you're adopted."

2003-12-17 01:42:45 PM
nightbreed

What concern is it of yours if someone else wears fur?

2003-12-17 01:43:12 PM
I saw a bumper sticker yesterday:

"People are more critical of fur than leather because it's safer to piss off rich women than bikers."

But all PETA hysterics aside, who the fark wears FUR?

Maybe I'd consider it if I was going to dress up as a farking caveman. Or a werewolf?

2003-12-17 01:43:24 PM
On par with Farfisa. Side note:

"Dog taste good...big black dog have best meat"

2003-12-17 01:43:36 PM
PETA has a point. Yes, many animals did die to make mommies coat.

I think their method of communicating this could be better.

/understatement.

2003-12-17 01:44:13 PM
"You said my mother kills animals !?!?! Oh, no you didn't !"

2003-12-17 01:44:46 PM
If PETA handed my son one of these flyers, I'd have them brought up on charges of mental abuse. Why haven't any of these parents tried that?

As far as wearing furs go, I don't do it, but if someone else wants to who am I to stop them as long as it's not my family cat or dog.

2003-12-17 01:44:55 PM
Instead of saying Duke sucks, from now on at the end of animal posts, let's being putting "PETA sucks"

2003-12-17 01:45:33 PM
Godless

I sure hope you don't drive a luxury car, wear name brand clothing, or buy any jewelry. Like I posted before, what concern is it of yours what people wear?

2003-12-17 01:45:40 PM
Hey, man, the truth hurts. Children should know where fur comes from. What, you guys think it grows on trees?

If you can't handle the truth, maybe you should change your behavior. Don't shoot the messenger for exposing the horrors -- yes HORRORS -- that animals go through when killed for your fashion.

</go back and stick your head in the sand again>

Aren't their laws against this protecting children from basically soliciters on the street targeting children?

"The fliers urge kids to ``ask your mommy how many dead animals she killed to make her fur clothes. "

Well technically none. Mommy didn't kill any animals.

2003-12-17 01:47:05 PM
Animal cruelty is an issue that does deserve to be addressed.

Ok, as long as you define animal cruelty as "abusing pets" or "killing/torturing wild animals for no reason", etc. and not "eating meat" or "medical testing".

J:

Why fark fur-wearing biatches? Are you actually concerned that a poor animal died to make your coat? How about the poor soldiers that died because of an evil regime over in Iraq?
