The short answer is no.

The long answer involves sniper rifles and you really dont want to stick around for that.

She was in the crosswalk.  That makes her perfectly safe.

Because every driver in Florida doesn't have a dash-cam.

She was in a crosswalk so she had the right of way. Just because some idiot is speeding doesn't revoke that.

...or at least legal. The drivers should have exercised more care.

I didn't see any signal lights, but I don't know much about their local laws, either. We have pedestrian crosswalks here that drivers must yield to, but they usually have a button to activate them and flashing warning lights.

Russia is quickly catching up to Japan in the WTF department, but I think a lot of that has to do with vodak.  OTOH, Japan is just farking weird.

I know nothing of Russian law (now bird law is another story) but the concept of "right of way" is often confused in the US.

You don't "have the right of way". There are merely situations where you must "yield the right of way". If you jump out in front of a bunch of cars driving too fast to reasonably stop it doesn't mean you have a right to do that just because there's a crosswalk there.

I suspect in Russia the Zebra crossing stripes means that pedestrians have an automatic right of way and cars have to yield to them. At least one car did this.

I see lots of people on Liveleak who boldly step out into crosswalks because they have automatic right of way, without even casting a glance at oncoming traffic because anyone who hits them would be breaking the law.

I'm sure as their limb and horribly disfigured body is thrown 50 feet the laws still mean a lot to them.

They have ROW, but they still can't just jump out in front of you.  I threw a woman on my hood about 25 years ago as she stepped in front me.  She was in a crosswalk and I was doing 10.  Bike cop saw the whole thing and gave her a ticket for jaywalking.
