SockMonkeyHolocaust: I am probably going, but any time I've seen them at the Electric Factory it was pretty underwhelming.

The Electric Factory is simply a terrible venue, sound-wise.  And I say that having seen several great shows there.

GG Allin story:

I played a club the night after GG Allin.  During soundcheck, I told the sound man, "this microphone smells like shiat!"

Soundman said, "Oh that must be the mic that GG Allin stuck up his ass last night."

I have brought my own personal microphone to every show since.

jayhawk88: How's that work for a band like Blink? Barker's one of the better drummers out there, right? All there songs seem to revolve around him with the other two pretty much just strumming chords.

He's great for the style of music that they play, but it's a pretty narrow scope. All he needs to do is play really fast, keep time, and remember to hit a tom or two now and then. Carey/Haake he ain't, but he doesn't have to be.

phedex: Lee's_Austin: CygnusDarius: Blink 182 still exists?.

Sure do.

And honestly I think they're one of the best pop-punk bands out there.  I'm glad they're back together, their last two albums are pretty amazing examples of the genre.  Far as that realm goes, only Alkaline Trio gets more play time for me than they do.

Not a big fan of Blink. Grew up with Bad Religion, NOFX, Black Flag (thanks to my brother), and the like.

I don't mind the music much but the when guitar player sings he sounds so... what is the word for it... snivelly?  Maybe whiney?  It's kinda like the Smashing Pumpkins, I can't get past the snivelly/whiney voice.

Krowdaddy Chixdiggit: Dwight_Yeast: duckpoopy: G.G. Allin would have flown. This guy is no punk.

GG Allin would never have made it onto a plane.  He would have been arrested long before that.

God, you guys just made me think of what it would be like to sit next to GG on a plane...

I would have loved doing so.... as long as there was a sixteen-year-old girl in the middle seat and.... ah, nevermind.....
